What you’ll be doing...

The Media Technology & Data Manager supports enterprise evolution and execution for media technology & data-driven advertising within the Corporate Marketing organization and includes primary ownership of technology relationships as well as guidance to digital agencies, activation teams, Verizon Media Group and Business Unit marketing. Reporting to the Director of Media Technology, Data & Analytics, you will ensure that Verizon is poised to significantly advance the industry in the application of innovation and intelligence for marketing communications.

You will drive consistent delivery of the most sophisticated digital marketing strategies, oftentimes requiring collaboration and influence with Verizon teams outside of your team. We’re looking for a leader who thrives on collaboration with other teams (media planning, social, search, business unit, CRM, research, creative, privacy, venture capital) and external platforms including key partners (i.e. FB, Adobe, Google, Epsilon, etc.).

You will be well established as a driver of adoption for emerging digital media formats (with particular emphasis on programmatic, SEM, SEO, Paid Social, and content marketing) and an operator in both the application and governance of data (media strategy, segment creation and management via DMP, data privacy, legal & IT partnerships). This team also develops, maintains and monitors guidelines (viewability, fraud, currency measures, etc.) for all media touch points to ensure brand safety and compliance, cementing Verizon’s position as a prime advocate for digital media quality.

Media Technology & Data

  • Drive programmatic and data-informed media investment for the enterprise.
  • Advance data-driven decision making across all media types.
  • Manage DMPs for individual Business Units and at the Enterprise level.
  • Work with business unit sub teams (CRM, .com, etc.) to ensure data consistency and connectivity.
  • Coordinate with VZ Marketing and BU Marketing Analytics team to analyze performance, monitors campaigns for improvements, ensuring campaign goals are being fully met
  • Governance over data sets, data partnerships, and data usage.
  • Key lead for establishing guidelines for viewability, frequency and brand safety.
  • Ensure multiple business units ad placement isn’t excessive across media site buys Ad.
  • Verification and Compliance (no inappropriate placements) across display and video.
  • Online Behavioral Advertising Opt out compliance (Ad Choices).

Enterprise Stewardship

  • Support enterprise efforts in data marketing applications & privacy compliance.
  • Center of excellence for advertising technology.
  • Liaison between Activation teams and Verizon Media Group.
  • Develop and deploy audience targeting strategies across all campaigns.
  • Negotiate contracts and maintain relationships with ad tech, data and top digital publishers.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Experience in online / digital agency planning & buying spanning display, Paid Search, Digital Video, Paid Social, Streaming Audio, mobile, or relevant area.
  • Six or more years of work experience in online / digital agency planning & buying spanning display, Paid Search, Digital Video, Paid Social, Streaming Audio, mobile, etc.
  • Detail-oriented approach to project management, contract negotiations.
  • Results-driven perspective on marketing.
  • Accomplishments in data visualization.
  • Experience in online targeting and reach strategy.
  • Passion for digital communications, new technologies and constantly evolving our approach.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to manage large projects across multiple stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Display (desktop, mobile), Paid Search, Digital Video, Streaming audio, various buying methodologies (CPM, CPC, CPA), etc.
  • Knowledge of online resources (DART, comScore, @plan, Site Catalyst, Multi touch attribution).
  • Knowledge in ad verification for display and video, Online Behavioral Advertising compliance (Ad Choices).
  • Ability to maintain accurate financial records.
