What you’ll be doing...

As a Program Manager for our Systems of Insights team, you will be part of the Customer Experience and Personalization organization within Verizon’s Consumer business unit. Our mission is to provide insights that facilitate easy, personalized interactions between Verizon and our customers. Our North Star is the customer experience. To provide the insights needed to fulfill this goal, we have core teams focused on analytics, insight creation and insight delivery. To support these core teams, we have centralized teams, including the Project Portfolio Management team, which you will lead.

  • Working with key stakeholders to prioritize strategic initiatives and drive capacity alignment across the ecosystem with a focus on internal capacity and resource allocation.
  • Managing all aspects of multiple simultaneous projects from inception to successful implementation.
  • Developing timelines and action plans to mitigate potential risks, including escalations to key stakeholders.
  • Influencing teams to meet delivery milestones, while building positive relationships.
  • Partnering with others to develop strategic roadmaps and operating models.
  • Facilitating cross-team and cross-function communication to reduce project handoff cycle time and shorten delivery timelines.
  • Ensuring all necessary stakeholders are involved and informed of projects, their timelines, and dependencies as necessary.
  • Working with delivery teams to understand release constraints and dependencies to ensure optimum use of resources for maximized value.
  • Partnering with leaders for budget planning and financial tracking.
  • Delivering concise storyline and strategy updates for key senior updates and operational reviews.
  • Assuming responsibility for ad hoc projects and reports which require coordination across teams.
  • Advocating and leading cultural initiatives.

What we’re looking for...

You have a demonstrated history of leading a team and building a culture of high performance. You have excellent interpersonal skills, including communication, stakeholder alignment. You have extensive organizational and time management skills.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Experience conducting analysis of project and program delivery metrics to identify bottlenecks or sources of defects in the program’s production methodology.
  • Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP) certification.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Agile Scrum Master or Product Owner certification.
  • Five or more years of experience planning and delivery of projects.
  • Analytics/data science background.
  • Experience working in a the telecom industry.
  • An understanding of project and program delivery concepts, such as burndown rates, delivery velocity, release planning, and forecasting.
  • A demonstrated history of leading a team and building a culture of high performance.
