What you’ll be doing...

Responsible for the advanced installation, operation & maintenance of network elements, ensuring network integrity & quality at Mobile Switching Centers (MSCs) including building maintenance. These networks include but are not limited to: LTE elements, routers, multilayer switches, & Ethernet backhaul. Responsible for troubleshooting, upgrading, administering these platforms & multiple vendor systems; maintaining system, element & platform applications; & providing support to a varied user community; updating daily logs with site specific information, and composing clear & concise reports for system documentation.

  • SAP equipment both virtual & physical: PGW, SGW, MME (Distro only)
  • VCP / eNSE support
  • SR / CSBC
  • VISP
  • FEX / NAC
  • VCP Application Configuration & Support
  • IP infrastructure
  • Routers & switches
  • Voicemail platforms
  • Transport: Ethernet Backhaul, lit/dark fiber
  • DACS
  • MSPP
  • AC/DC Power Plant Equipment
  • HVAC
  • Generators
  • DSO / NNO / VZB support (P, PE, Brocade, Firewall, ISP links, EDN & COIN links, VCP, eNSE, MSE).
  • Expected to perform work with minimum supervision & participate in cross-functional projects, as scheduled.
  • On Call rotation required.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Associate’s degree or two or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in data networking protocols including TCP/IUP, OSI, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, BFD, SIP and other LAN/WAN protocols.
  • Experience in data transmission facilities such as 1G, 10G, 100G & native Ethernet & SONET.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends as necessary.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Certifications such as Red Hat, Openstack, CCENT, CCNA or CCNP.
  • Strong programming & computer skills with emphasis on application.
  • Intermediate training in at least 3 of the following areas: SDN/NFV, data networking & communications, wireless technologies, digital communications, operating systems & applications, telecommunications and/or power distribution.
  • Experience in AD/DC power systems, HVAC, dark fiber, Lucent, Motorola, Nortel; LTE / CDMA data, Tellabs DACS & Anypath or Comverse, voicemail platforms, Linux, Openstack, Containers, SDN / NFV.
