What you’ll be doing...

Our Global Supply Chain is hiring a strategic thinker to join the Distribution and Transportation team. As a Logistics Services Consultant, you will be part of a team that builds tools, performs analyses, and creates insights that informs, quantifies, and enables supply chain to effectively partner with multiple organizations across Verizon including field operations, marketing, and customer experience.

There will be a strong focus on delivering the best customer experience while maintaining best cost for Verizon and our customers. Another key function of this role will be creating collaborative relationships with several suppliers and 3PLs. Other responsibilities include:

  • Developing and leading broad projects and programs in support of the organization.
  • Evaluating and understanding key business requirements, tracking financial impacts and operational concerns and reporting progress continuously.
  • Representing supply chain on new initiatives.
  • Identifying and delivering opportunities for cost reduction, driving savings in line with overall business expectations, and ensuring targets for cost reduction are achieved and/or exceeded.
  • Helping define and design processes for new product introductions including representing Supply Chain and providing critical direction to project leads.
  • Participate in product development meetings to ensure successful capture of Supply Chain requirements:
    • Detailed requirements gathering.
    • Creation of change / work requests and user stories that impact many IT systems.
    • Conduct meetings (conference calls & face to face) with key supply Chain partners to relay key learning´s and actions from broader Cross functional teams.
  • Providing template and governance for management updates on project status, key metrics, issues, and risks.
  • Acting as a liaison between functional teams on projects that have a multi-organization or business unit scope.
  • Leading efforts to ensure high-profile projects are funded properly in current and future years.

What we’re looking for...

You will need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in supply chain service functions.
  • Project management experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A Degree.
  • Experience managing vendors.
  • A proven record of managing multiple simultaneous projects on time and budget.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of logistics services, systems, and applications.
  • Skill in financial planning, including expense and capital budgeting.
  • The ability to think strategically with a focus on implementation and execution.
  • Skill in Microsoft Office suite (i.e., Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint).
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.
