What you’ll be doing...

As a part of the Information Technology team, you’ll design and develop improvements to our customer care applications, like our Wireless Customer Communications platform. You’ll also work across the business to vet and deliver small to medium sized technology projects. The improvements that you recommend and implement will have a major impact on customer satisfaction, which will help improve our business and grow our customer base.

  • Collaborating with IT and business teams on projects.
  • Troubleshooting issues within customer care applications.
  • Supporting code and configuration updates.
  • Evaluating proposals to make sure they’re technically sound.
  • Supporting the implementation of upgrades and new applications.

Responsibilities

Provides technical and/or analytical support to one or more departments or work units with limited supervision; aids in the successful completion of projects within a product or functional area; typically reports to Supervisor (Band 7) or on occasion Manager (Band 6).

Performs a variety of activities (may be technical in nature) in support of the functional processes, programs and/or services.

Work may include compiling and analyzing data, creating reports, providing information and/or recommendations regarding function specific policies; tracking of processes &activities.

Receives supervision and occasional guidance on achieving short term goals and operating objectives; may work independently with limited supervision; may assist on team projects.

Generally works under existing standards and procedures; may require some interpretation.

Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practises to determine appropriate action; works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations requires a review of identifiable factors.

Required Skills

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline with experience in software design and development.

Minimum of 2 - 4 years’ experience in REACTJS/REDUX and Java / J2EE

Candidate must be able to perform analysis, code, troubleshoot, and test in accordance to VzWstandards

Ability to formulate, implement and document unit test cases

Candidate should have experience in software design, systems integration and development in accordance to VzW standards.

Working experience within Java/J2EE technical development, delivery and working with teams in a distributed delivery model.

Possess strong presentation and communication skills.

Candidate should be able to work very closely with the onshore counterparts and mentor/guide new team members. .

Gain quick understanding on the existing system architecture and flow.

Participate in the application requirements review meetings and perform requirement analysis

Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet critical deadlines.

Experience in developing large scale enterprise applications is a plus.

Ability to formulate, implement and document unit test cases.

Strong XML, JSON, and multithreading knowledge.

Possess experience with multi-tier system implementation.

Understanding middleware frameworks. Aware of security issues/concerns of web applications.

Ability to work to meet deadlines, providing clear and timely statuses.

Ability to develop/ document test strategies from provided specifications, requesting input as necessary.

Ability to implement from provided specifications, requesting input as necessary.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.

Telecom Industry Experience is a plus.

Ecommerce industry experience is a plus

Required: HTML, CSS, Javascript, XML, JSON, AJAX

Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.

Experience in developing rich UI using JQuery, any UI framework is preferred

Extensive experience in Web UI framework and Web UI development which includes Usability, Pagetransition, page navigation, image caching, lazy page loading is a plus

Experience in using UI debugging and profiling tools

Experience in development of multi-threaded application in interfacing with other systems

Additional Skills (Nice TO Have)

Experience in Accessibility, ARIA is a plus
