We are currently hiring for Senior Security Consultants to join our Professional Services team supporting accounts and projects across the globe. The candidate will deliver consulting project activities, ranging from client identification through final invoicing through medium to long term engagements requiring varied interpersonal and technical skills.

Technical responsibilities include problem identification, system architecture definition, hardware/software specification and/or design, implementation, testing, client training, and solution deployment. Performance is evaluated based on billable hours and contractual deliverables.

The candidate will:

  • Be viewed by customers as a consultant and performance is measured by delivery of agreed solutions within budgeted hours.
  • Work on problems of complex scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
  • Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.

As a Senior Security Consultant:

  • Identify, assess and upgrade customer information technology infrastructure regarding risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Identify gaps in the security architecture, and develop recommendations for long and short term roadmap for corrections.
  • Where applicable, work closely with the Verizon PM team to ensure that project scope is correctly delivered and that the TM practice requirements are defined and delivered.
  • Provide security configuration services around firewall ruleset design, review, implementation and operation management. If necessary, provide firewall rule set analysis, workflow automation and implementation of automation.
  • Assist refresh of firewall/proxy/security devices.
  • Applicable knowledge of (but not limited to):
    • Firewalls
    • Network intrusion detection
    • Security audits, diagnostics, forensic tools
    • Management tools and procedures
    • Enterprise security programs
    • Proxies
  • Document (textual and graphical as appropriate), communicate, recommend and take appropriate action to resolve, risks and issues associated with security vulnerabilities across the Customer IT Environment.
  • Manage iBOSS/Zscaler application and implementation.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Three or more years of experience in the following technologies:
    • Firewall (Cisco ASA/Juniper/PaloAlto/Fortigate/Check Point)
    • Cisco ISE
    • Symantec Endpoint Protection
    • TrendMicro Deep Security (HIDS)
    • MobileIron/Mobile Device Management/ProofPoint
    • Proxy (Zscaler/WebSense Web Content Filtering/iBOSS)
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to:
    • Read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals.
    • Document procedures that conform to a prescribed style and format.
    • Present information to management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Eight or more years of related work experience.
  • Previous consulting experience within a Professional Services organization.
  • Industry certification such as CISSP, CCSE, SANS or other Security certifications, such as GCIA, GCIH, GREM, GPEN, CEH.
  • Five or more years of analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and methodologies.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Excels in ticket management, ensures that SLAs and OLAs are met
  • ITIL certification.
