What you’ll be doing...

In this role you will support activity related to fulfillment for Wireless Device and Accessory orders shipping from our 3PL managed Distribution Centers. You will act as a primary liaison between Verizon, the 3PL and the transportation carriers, facilitating operations at the DC's to efficiently ship devices and accessories direct to consumers as well as to Retail locations for replenishment. Your responsibilities extend to tracking/monitoring and reporting on all Wireless Device/Accessory shipments. Additionally, you would identify and analyze operational and cost savings opportunities related to transportation and shipping processes. You would also be responsible for carrier claims management, carrier performance reporting and management including service levels and loss/damage, enhancing end customer experience and reducing carrier’s time in transit.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Manage Transportation carriers daily to ensure all Wireless Device/Accessory orders are shipped and delivered to meet/exceed customers expected delivery as well as contractual service levels.
  • Facilitate regular calls with the transportation carrier to provide update on order trending, order volumes and service level issues that have occurred.
  • Identify, develop and modify reports for Supply Chain, ensuring all information is accurate and complete.
  • Partner with internal and external security teams to identify issues and implement corrective action to avoid further issues.
  • Partner with Third Party Logistics Providers for Operational Activities in a Distribution Center, specifically with regards to parcel shipments.
  • Coordinate Less Than Truck Load (LTL) and Freight Shipments with Carriers and Distribution Centers.
  • Promote a culture of accountability and structured project management best practices.
  • Assist supply chain projects to continually improve the business performance, customer experience, and/or reduce expense.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to document, root cause, and track systemic defects to resolution.
  • Act as a subject matter expert regarding Transportation and Shipping Operations, systems-related projects, and collaborative problem solving.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in operations and transportation.
  • Experience documenting and communicating requirements.
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Experience in large scale operations and transportation.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Experience working with a third Party Logistics Provider.
  • Experience working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with process breakdown and reengineering.
  • Experience with WMS, POS, SAP, or BI/SQL, etc.
  • Experience in inventory management and account reconciliation.
  • Experience in Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies.
