What you’ll be doing...

We succeed when we get our products into the hands of our customers as quickly and efficiently as possible and that’s where you come in. You’ll be managing order fulfillment of our FiOS materials. In this position you will manage a team responsible for all outbound transportation activities related to FiOS, VzConnect, Direct to Consumer and In-Franchise Transportation. This includes transportation from our distribution centers and OEM’s to our GWCs (Garage Work Centers), COs (Central Offices), job sites, end customers and Retail Stores. Additionally, you will be responsible for the management of multiple carriers across multiple modes of transport. This includes the transport of material via small parcel, LTL, TL and Dedicated Fleet. You will have to hit budget targets as well as hold the vendors accountable to meet SLA and KPI targets.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Leading key distribution center functions such as inventory management and order fulfillment.
  • Planning daily operations to meet the daily demand.
  • Identifying and implementing efficiency and cost-saving measures for continuous improvement.
  • Tracking metrics like productivity, timeliness, and order accuracy to ensure goals are met.
  • Managing distribution, reorders, receiving requirements, returns, and transit issues.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience managing transportation operations.
  • Supplier and Carrier management experience, especially UPS/FedEx/USPS.
  • Experience in Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and SAP.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience managing large scale transportation operations.
  • Motivation and results driven.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience managing a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Lean Six Sigma processes.
  • Critical thinking skills to solve both strategic and tactical challenges on a daily basis.
  • Ability to work with multiple internal partner groups to generate optimal outcome.
  • Strong problem solving skills and ability to take action.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at a time that meet or exceed targets.
