FP&A Transformation Team

Reshaping the future of FP&A at Verizon, calls for improving our ability to deliver exceptional value to our customers. Being a part of the FP&A Transformation team you will work alongside financial professionals and business leaders, gaining opportunities to grow and develop to build a strong FP&A foundation. As a member of the FP&A Transformation team, you must use forward-thinking, out of the box ideas and innovation to ensure successful collaboration and transformation of Verizon Finance processes. This role will help to organize, create, communicate, and facilitate activities that allow the company to deliver on its Planning & Forecasting transformation goals while guiding the strategic direction across Verizon. Explore the breadth of opportunities that come with aligning your expertise with the future of superior networks, systems, analytics and video, to improve the way people live work and play.

Project management is the art of making things happen. You will interact with Finance personnel across all lines of business on a regular basis. The successful candidate will also forge relationships with members of our Human Resources teams, Information Technology, Marketing, Operations and Real Estate.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop approaches and solutions required to implement Finance process transformation and improvements.
  • Participate in multiple process development or improvement discussions to help in defining performance metrics and identifying and exploiting process opportunities, including process analysis, with considerations for the functional and logical system design and implementation.
  • Understand the requirements and priorities around reporting & analysis deliverables for Finance Transformation.
  • Create documentation of the processes and collaborate with corresponding Transformation teams to ensure coordinated strategy and implementation.
  • Analyze, organize and manage high volumes of data, including financials and metrics, and be knowledgeable of the key business drivers.
  • Maintain accurate status for all owned projects in progress, own creation and delivery to clients on or by agreed upon frequency.
  • Manages high visibility strategic projects.
  • Creates detailed project plans and communicate business updates.
  • Identifies global resource requirements and pull in the right people.
  • Present and communicate to all levels of the business.

What we’re looking for...

You will need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Three or more years of Reporting and Financial analysis experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint.

Even better if you have:

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
  • Strong analytical skills - ability to review financial results and provide meaningful analysis.
  • Experience as a people leader.
  • Project management skills in managing competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills with theability to focus on the details.
  • Experience in the technology and/or telecommunications industry.
  • A professional certification (e.g. CPA, CMA, PMP).
  • Knowledge of FASB and SEC requirements, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, tax reporting and accounting practices, and International Financial Reporting Standards.
  • Knowledge of report query and design.
  • Experience in continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis, and project management.
  • Proficiency in the usage of Essbase, Smart View, Hyperion Planning, and Hyperion Strategic Finance.
  • Experience in the usage of OBIEE, Tableau, SQL, and/or similar tools.
  • Willingness to travel.
