As we migrate mission-critical network functions to the Verizon Cloud Platform (VCP), it is important to utilize Orchestration tools to streamline the deployment and management of the virtual network functions. This position will be responsible for the the reliability, performance, and security of the Orchestration ecosystem and will require an individual with a strong focus on automation to eliminate manual processes. The individual will perform in a technical role and provide guidance in implementation of complex solutions in an Openstack environment.

What we’re looking for...

An engineer with experience in scripting and automation. The individual needs to be fluent in one or more scripting languages (Python, PHP, Perl, Shell, Ruby, etc.) and familiar with automation tools such as, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet. They shouldhave experience with Linux systems and the ability to support large scale environments.

An individual should have the ability to think on their own and have the ability to make decisions in the best interest of the business with no supervision. Identify deficiencies and quickly develop a solution in a DevOps manner to add operational efficiencies in the network and help improve overall reliability; resulting in a better experience for our customers.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Willingess to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree in Computer Science or relevant.
  • Expereince in one or more scripting languages (Python, PHP, Shell, Ruby, Perl).
  • Ability to quickly analyze situations, identify problems, and provide solutions.
  • Experience with Linux systems in an enterprise production environment.
  • Openstack certified.
  • Experience developing REST based web services.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, load balancing, firewalls, HTTP, SSL, DNS, DHCP.
  • Ability to lead and drive projects to completion.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
