What you’ll be doing...

You will help in a large scale hardware deployment to help build the foundation that keeps us in front of the competition. The work you will be doing will deliver the network infrastructure for new platform, product and service deployments. We will look to you to meet critical deadlines for large cross-functional and enterprise-wide projects and solve the complex problems that the team may face along the way. Your role will be pivotal to coordinate activities within the network function and across other teams to make completing complex projects look easy. The position will be focused on a large scale IDS deployment for Verizon Wireless.

  • Developing end-to-end project plans to guide the implementation of network infrastructure.
  • Balancing resource allocation, timelines, and potential risk factors that may impact project success.
  • Managing a variety of project teams focused on different aspects of the network infrastructure and keeping them on task to meet deadlines.
  • Directing the deployment of new product and service projects to ensure their integration and commercial success.
  • Leading project update meetings for leadership and finding creative ways to resolve problems.
  • Network Security Incident Response Team (NSIRT) project managers are responsible for end-to-end implementation of network infrastructure initiatives as it relates to new platform, product and service deployments working with all organizations within Network. Cross functional work is also required to collaborate with other business teams.

Project managers should be familiar and can leverage the agile framework to manage with leadership qualities to effectively direct deployment activities for the integration and commercial success of new products and services. This includes creation and maintaining product backlogs, establishing milestone, timelines and direction, aligning people with determination, and willingness to take action and follow through.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in managing cross-functional or enterprise projects or large scale deployments

Even better if you have:

  • A degree
  • PMI or Project management certification.
  • Experience with Wireless/ Cellular/ Telecom technologies.
  • Three or more years of experience in managing large cross-functional or enterprise-wide projects.
  • Ability to influence organizational direction and departmental initiatives.
  • Strong leadership, problem solving and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in project execution.
  • Experience as a primary point of contact to lead the design, implementation and roll out of assigned program/projects. Project managing multiple initiatives from conception to implementation.
  • Ability to interface and collaborate with internal/external stakeholders on a regular basis to optimize existing processes, tools and ensure smooth communication within the project team and other cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to evaluate and develop solutions to fulfill business requirements, provide rough order of magnitude assessments and project status reports.
  • Ability to roll out key processes and dashboards for strategic initiatives across the portfolio.
  • Ability to maintain and update Clarity, JIRA, Confluence, and SharePoint with project statuses, requirements via user stories, required information and documentation.
  • Experience in preparing and document support documentation and acceptance criteria. Oversee and drive establishment of SLA agreements.
