What you’ll be doing...

You’ll provide business intelligence in support of the Commercial Operations organization that helps our team to evaluate complex issues and make smart decisions. You’ll partner with your internal clients to understand what they need to know, and then develop data-driven analytical solutions utilizing SQL and various BI tools such as Tableau and Excel. You’ll be tasked with connecting disparate sets of data and developing analyses and insights that help to improve results and make critical business decisions.

  • Participate in cross-functional project teams to identify critical business questions and pain points.
  • Interpret business requests and translate them into data views and analysis. Prepare concise, comprehensive and level-appropriate analysis and presentations to address the request.
  • Create comprehensive analysis on Verizon’s revenue, profitability, products, services, promotions, pricing, and customer trends to guide business decisions.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to enhance data analysis, reporting efficiency and methodology. Stay on top of business changes, identify new gaps and opportunities for improvement in available data, and work with IT and business leads to implement new solutions or update existing processes.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Verizon’s B2B data structure across Wireline and Wireless and become an expert in accessing, integrating and manipulating data in order to complete strategic analyses.

What we’re looking for...

You are good with numbers and you love to dig into data to find the story. Designing analyses and visuals to explain your point of view is a fun afternoon for you. You’re able to translate numbers into compelling stories - and tailor your presentation and recommendations to the audience function and level to meet their needs. You are detail-oriented and know how to focus on what really matters. You have a knack for understanding and visualizing just the right way to share data and practical insights so that people can understand.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, information systems, analytics/business intelligence, engineering, mathematics, statistics, other relevant discipline or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience using advanced SQL queries to extract data for use in analysis and presentations.
  • Experience investigating and solving complex technical problems and data discrepancies.
  • Working knowledge of Python, R or other language for scripting and more advanced analyses.
  • Some experience with data visualization applications such as Tableau.
  • Advanced expertise with Excel.

Even better if you have:

  • Telecom industry experience.
  • Experience with Teradata.
  • Experience with statistical analysis, quantitative analysis, forecasting/predictive analytics, multivariate testing.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience in process and requirements documentation.
