What you’ll be doing...

As a Principal Software Architect focused on Java and Android , you will be responsible for the development of mobile and web applications and complete end to end services.

  • Execute rapid prototyping to facilitate proof of concepts and demonstrations for complex requirements and features.
  • Develop and test the defined requirements with high accountability while managing risks and the potential of evolving requirements.
  • Solve complex challenges specifically related to Android applications and services for the unique requirements of building proof of concepts, in diverse areas.
  • Work closely with other functional teams, third parties, and vendors to facilitate the resolution of issues.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with Android application development using JavaScript, NodeJS and AngularJS.
  • Experience in Linux and Android software development in languages including Java.
  • Willingness to travel 25% or less of the time.

Even better if you have:

  • Master's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science or relevant experience.
  • Six or more years of work experience with Android application development using JavaScript, NodeJS and AngularJS.
  • Understanding of Android system architecture.
  • Experience with Linux and Android software development tools (Android Studio, git).
  • Strong experience debugging Android application issues.
  • Experience with continuous integration software development processes and configuration management tools.
  • Experience building and testing for calling remote REST/JSON APIs.
  • Experience with writing distributed applications with fair understanding of MongoDB and MySQL Databases, High Charts, Socket.io, AWS & Services.
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, XML.
  • Experience with the following frameworks: React, React Native.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional environment without boundaries for the benefit of the project and team.
  • Ability to decompose larger problems into work as self-contained, minimally-dependent tasks.
  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, often ambiguous and entrepreneurial environment and to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Ability to work as part of a geographically distributed team.
  • Ability to improve both technical knowledge and process; ability to learn and apply skills to new technology.
  • Shipped at least two mobile apps and willingness to provide us with at least one 'live in the world' app.
  • A solid understanding of best practices in mobile design and development, as well as a deep understanding of the inner workings of mobile devices.
