The Finance Organization

FP&A Corporate and Business Unit Team

Move beyond compiling data and help tell the story behind the numbers. The Business Unit facing positions offer opportunities to drive better business partnering and insights, while growing your FP&A leadership and interpersonal skills. You are considered a business partner and your contributions will make a difference. You’ll become involved in, but not limited to, pricing decisions and new initiatives to develop new products and services. You can have an impact on new business growth opportunities through development of business case scenarios.

  • Develop, maintain and update comprehensive pro forma financial models and valuation analysis in support of non-standard and promotional planning and strategic business cases. Clearly present findings and impacts in order to drive decision making.
  • Partner with cross functional business units, product, sales and marketing teams to develop/maintain and update financial models and valuation analysis in support of new products and platforms.
  • Produce complex business case analyses based on quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Prepare final monthly analyses of business trends and variance analysis of financial results and Key Performance Indicators to be used in management reviews and strategic business analysis sessions.
  • Liaise with cross functional business units, product, sales and marketing teams to construct actionable business objectives and outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain single subscriber analysis related to large deals, promotions, and non-standard pricing initiatives.
  • Develop standard business case templates that de-couple and unbundle promos/offer in order to show which product/speed/etc is impacted by the promo/bundle offer.
  • Develop the final in-depth analysis of the business performance and recommend action plans; including gap closures, considerations for managing cost, growing the revenue and profitability.
  • Identify complex business performance issues and present insights on the promotional and non-standard pricing offerings.
  • Provide strategic financial and operational insights utilizing recurring performance reports, ad-hoc analysis and performance reviews on promotion/non-standard pricing initiatives.
  • Partner with Center of Excellence to drive continuous reporting improvements and analytics.
  • Evaluate business trends and assess monthly and quarterly business performance in driving strategic business analysis within large deals, promotional offers, non-standard pricing initiatives.
  • Advise on risk and opportunity considerations for managing cost and growing the revenue and profitability.
  • Recommend planning and business performance issues to define and execute action plans.
  • Identify and assess cost and effect patterns in the business not captured in existing reporting.
  • Perform monthly performance review of business unit initiatives and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide decision support and guidance; lead ad-hoc presentation development and executive review.
  • Present and communicate to all levels of the cross functional business.
  • Support Global Enterprise, Medium Business, and Public Sector EMR process including presentation to VZ executives.
  • Support the CPS103 and Delegation of Authority process for VZ Business Group.
  • Work with Pricing Contract Management and Sales on post award analysis on wins and losses.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Management experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

Even better if you have:

  • A Master's in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
  • A professional certification (e.g. CPA, CMA).
  • High degree of strategic and analytical capability, including the ability to analyze a large amount of data.
  • Strong strategic skills, with the ability to identify and assess key points, implications and recommendations;ability to structure business case around a high-level strategic vision.
  • Knowledge of FASB and SEC requirements, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, tax reporting and accounting practices and International Financial Reporting Standards.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to focus on the details.
  • Experience in continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis and project management, time value of money (TVM) calculations.
