A critical part of our business transformation includes sizeable investments in our commercial cyber security business. Verizon is a global leader in delivering integrated cyber security managed and professional services to large and small businesses and public sector customers. With nine security operations centers around the world and a team of experienced professionals, we are trusted by some of largest multi-national corporations and federal government agencies to keep their data and infrastructure protected from cyber-attacks. Our services cover the lifecycle of cyber security from assessment and design to implementation and management to breach response and remediation.

Our cyber security marketing team leads all aspects of our go-to-market strategy and execution from market assessment and customer segmentation to product launch and marketing programs. It is a high-performing team that plays major role in the success of our business. We are expanding this team and are in search of a business strategist with cyber security industry expertise who can design and lead research and strategic initiatives that will drive sales, marketing and product direction and focus. This critical position will report directly to the global head of cyber security strategy and marketing and play an important role in designing strategies that have immediate and long-term positive impacts on the business’s revenue and growth. The primary objective is to drive double digits YOY growth of sales of our commercial cyber security services.

This is a highly visible role that includes frequent interactions with senior executives within Verizon Marketing and Sales organizations and overseeing strategic initiatives with key business leaders and technology partners. Specifically, you will:

  • Lead strategy and planning initiatives for Verizon’s commercial cyber security business to drive sales attainment and revenue growth.
  • Identify market and competitive research requirements that will guide strategic planning initiatives.
  • Develop customer segmentation frameworks and buyer propensity models to guide solution bundling and messaging strategies.
  • Work closely with the product, pricing and segment leadership to develop solution bundles that cut across product towers and address specific customer needs and market opportunities.
  • Assist in the development of Verizon cyber security strategy presentations and present at internal and customer facing events and external speaking engagements.
  • Assist product teams in the development of reference architecture and solution creation documents and materials for both customers and sales training, with support from other teams.
  • Lead the development of reference maps for the evolving competitive and technology landscapes of cyber security.
  • Develop frameworks and strategies for technology partner engagement and support.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Four or more years of experience in product marketing, product management, cyber security, data analytics and/or consulting in technology-related industries.

Even better if you have:

  • Master's degree and/or a technical degree in cyber security-related areas.
  • Three or more years of experience of working for a cyber security technology company or service provider or top tier strategy consulting or investment banking firm.
  • Experience with strategy and planning to drive sales attainment and revenue growth.
  • Exceptional analytical skills; experience in designing research initiatives, analyzing results and building reference models to articulate findings.
  • Strong executive communication skills; the ability to build and deliver presentations that drive a thorough understanding of an issue, present a recommended course of action, and lead to outcomes.
