What you’ll be doing...

The Wireline Network Operations Control Centers (OCC) provide provisioning, maintenance and dispatch support to the Retail, Wholesale and Enterprise business customer base and is open 24 hours, 365 days a year. Our centers are located throughout Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and Virginia. Our OCC provides internal operations support for every product level from plain old telephone service (voice) to Optical Carrier Systems. As part of the operations center team, you will be a part of a very fast paced and customer focused work environment.

As our Senior Analyst you will lead communication efforts in support of the entire OCC as well as coordination of major events for these centers. In this role, you will ensure that internal and external communications and meetings are efficient, effective and will utilize the most technologically advanced communication tools available to our teams. You may be asked to interface with other internal communication teams and leadership teams to convey key business and customer focused messaging. If you enjoy compiling clear and effective communications for all levels, and coordinating major meeting events, then this job might be perfect for you.

  • Create a regular cadence of key messaging to the OCC organization, reflect key business and customer challenges (via written and/or scripted video messages), draft key messages for the Vice President and responding to feedback on the content to make necessary edits and adjustments.
  • Establish an internal communications strategy in conjunction with senior managers.
  • Ensure organizational initiatives and projects are successfully communicated to employees and stakeholders.
  • Work within the organization and with other communication teams to understand key business challenges and communication needs.
  • Ensure internal communications messages are consistent across all mediums throughout the OCC organization.
  • Plan, edit and write content for a variety of internal communications mediums, such as a staff intranet, monthly magazine or regular email bulletins.
  • Utilize the latest technology to convey these key messages in a crisp format.
  • Provide occasional OCC meeting planning and event coordination and execution.
  • Handle internal communications for crisis or spur of moment situations.
  • Create a positive work environment by motivating, recognizing and engaging employees through proper communication while ensuring we maintain all corporate, departmental and office policies and procedures.
  • Advise leadership of developments throughout the organization, either face to face or through regular written communications.
  • Create and develop new methods and mediums for employee engagement and communication.
  • Occasional travel to the any of the MA, NY, NJ, PA, DE, MD and VA OCCs will be needed.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Associate’s degree or two or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with employee communication, communication strategies, and meeting coordination.
  • Experience communicating with teams through, guides, training delivery, and publications (MS Word or Google Docs).
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience creating presentations (through PowerPoint, or other presentation applications).
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree in journalism, communications, or public relations.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of internal systems or the ability to learn new systems as necessary.
  • Digital skills: Familiarity with information technology, including digital and video means of communications.
  • Understanding and/or extensive experience in wireline operations.
  • Experience in developing and presenting executive level reports and presentations. Experience presenting to executives and a unionized workforce.
  • Proficiency with PowerPoint and Word.
  • Experience with Google Suite.
  • Ability to be a self-starter and quick learner who can work independently, but also work effectively with internal and external team members.
