What you’ll be doing...

The position is part of the Business Transformation and Planning Office that is part of the Wireline Network Organization which encompasses over 25,000 managers and associates. You will be supporting Wireline Field operations that are responsible for building and operating the leading communications and information network in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states.

The Business Analyst will work with Field Operations and functional leaders at the highest levels within the organization to execute on a wide variety of transformative projects aimed at achieving strategic and financial objectives as well as preparing the business for the future. You will leverage Lean Six Sigma methodologies to identify areas of opportunity, develop solutions and drive full execution across the business. The Business Analyst will also be asked to lead business transformation efforts, new revenue-generating initiatives, and/or analytics across the entire Wireline Network Organization. Detailed data gathering, analysis and metric reporting are key elements of this role.

  • Formulate techniques for quality data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy and legitimacy of data.
  • Assist with reports and data extraction when needed.
  • Assist in developing forecast models, driving analyses and providing solutions.
  • Gather and analyze data to measure business impact, drive strategy and identify future opportunities.
  • Create and maintain executive-level presentations for strategy and transformation initiatives, operational reviews, business unit reviews, capital planning, and product strategy.
  • Timely and accurate tracking, forecasting, reporting and optimization of financial cost elements associated with project delivery and team management.
  • Scorecard creation and data analytics for all key performance indicators and ad-hoc requests.
  • Understand and analyze various drivers impacting WNO field metrics and outcomes and provide a fact-based recommendation to the stakeholders on how these can be optimized.
  • Collect results and provide reporting and analysis of initiative and program performance.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, or relevant technical discipline or four or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience using predictive modeling, data processing, and data mining algorithms to solve challenging business problems.
  • Experience in generating and analyzing data reports with a strategic mindset that focuses on problem solving.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including ability to conduct outside/inside research, analyze data, and use analytic tools effectively to develop forecast models, drive analyses and provide solutions.
  • Experience with Tableau, SharePoint and Google Slides.
  • Ability to provide extensive data analysis, root causation and remedial actions plans for performance improvement.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office; PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
  • Experience creating, developing and presenting Senior Executive Reviews, Project Overviews, and Operational Reviews to all levels of an organization.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Verizon Fios products and end to end process understanding from ordering, fulfillment, provisioning, installation, billing and support.
  • Experience in outside plant Construction, Installation & Maintenance.
  • Ability to be an analytical & strategic thinker, with the ability to translate user needs, business objectives and technology capabilities into our overall best-in-class customer experience.
  • Forward looking analytical mindset with outstanding communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated skills such as modeling, planning, and forecasting with focus on process and the customer experience.
  • Knowledge of field operations practices and theory to analyze reporting and forecast future needs.
  • Communications industry experience with experience in developing new processes and programs.
  • Experience performing comprehensive cost benefits analyses.
  • Ability to exercise influence at senior levels, and building alignment around goals and objectives.
  • Knowledge of the following software and systems: NORM, SABIT, SQL, Oracle, COFEE Anywhere, Alteryx.
  • Transformation office support and detailed organization planning skills.
  • Excellent oral, written, analytical and communication skills; can present project status and findings concisely and effectively to critical audiences.
  • Experience in handling confidential information appropriately.
