What you’ll be doing...

The Signaling Security team within Verizon Global Network Management is seeking a Signaling Security Engineer to work on our team ensuring the operational security of next-generation Verizon networks supporting exciting new products like 5G.The Signaling Security team is responsible for the end-to-end design, implementation, administration, and operation of Verizon's signaling security program.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive network-level requirements to support security enhancements related to new and evolving technology (VOLTE/5G).
  • Evaluate new features, products, and solutions to enhance the signaling security and threat intelligence portfolios.
  • Provide support as required for industry organizations, standards boards, and/or specialized workgroups (i.e. CSRIC, CTIA, etc.).
  • Participate in GSMA working groups related to signaling security.
  • Effectively manage vendor relationships and activities to promote operational excellence.
  • Drive vendor compliance to Verizon security standards.
  • Establish and document relevant operational processes and procedures, and refine as necessary.
  • Process signaling firewall reports and proactively engage internal and external partners as needed to share threat intel.
  • Continue periodic penetration testing to identify potential gaps and capture recommended improvements.
  • Select relevant firewall KPI’s and establishes monitoring processes and procedures.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Knowledge of signaling networks and underlying protocols (SS7/Diameter/GTP).
  • Strong knowledge of wireless network architecture and call flows for voice, SMS, and data (3G/4G/5G).
  • Knowledge of GSMA specifications related to signaling security.
  • Ability to perform as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Knowledge of international wireless roaming (GSM roaming).
  • Experience with use of network-based tools for troubleshooting and analysis.
  • Vendor management experience.
  • Relevant security certifications: CISSP, CEH, etc.
