What you’ll be doing...

The Network Strategic Planning and Modeling team is hiring a strategic thinker to join a high profile, high visibility organization that powers Network analytics and strategic thinking for Verizon. You will be part of a team that builds tools, analysis, and insights that informs, quantifies, and enables the visualization of data to drive business decisions and investment for the Verizon Wireless and Wireline Networks. We create actionable operational and strategic insights and visualizations for senior leaders in the company across multiple organizations. You will be part of the team that shapes multibillion-dollar investments for the nation’s largest Network.

This PMTS role will gather feedback to design and implement a rolling budget process for $13B+ of network capital, inclusive of the underlying systems involved to ensure end-to-end flow of our budget systems and capital allocation. This is a job for an intelligent, decisive, quick, forward-thinking, strategic, and tactical thought leader. The candidate must have exceptional influencing skills and preferred experience working across areas and levels of an organization.

For this role, you will leverage process-driven project management experience and network understanding to seek out efficiencies, drive forward-looking features, and collaborate with numerous organizations to secure feedback and buy-in. You will be looked to as a subject matter expert that can dive deep into the details and boil down learning’s into a shareable, easy to understand format. Time will be spent interfacing with multiple teams throughout Verizon to understand the network’s budget process challenges and recommendations, internally with our own team to communicate findings and how to transform that into tangible benefit, and sharing insights with executives that will help to visualize the plan.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating consistently with partner organizations develop rolling budget framework and granular process flow, with an aspirational yet practical mindset.
  • Leveraging network drivers to establish effective forecasts that are automated and repeatable.
  • Ensuring end-to-end budget data from request input to executive reviews are accounted for in the unified budget allocation tool.
  • Establishing in-tool workflow and automation.
  • Working with organizations to derive network capital drivers for guidance categories to improve forecasting ability.
  • Aiding in the Network Planning capital allocation and review process
  • Collaborating in strategic budgeting efforts across the Network organization, to optimizing processes and procedures that lead to improved end-user experience, financial/network KPIs, capital visibility, and investment agility.
  • Providing executive-level communication and recommendations on proposed plans / changes to plan and potential impact of such changes.
  • Makeing business recommendations with effective presentations of findings at multiple levels of stakeholders through visual displays of quantitative information.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • MBA or Master’s degree
  • Network Planning or Engineering experience.
  • Network financial experience
  • VLSS Green Belt or higher
  • Business and technology acumen and extremely strong collaboration, influencing and presentation skills.
  • High degree of strategic and analytical capability, including the ability to analyze a large amount of data between and amongst various systems.
  • Strong project and process management skills and ability to manage multiple competing projects/priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to distill complex issues quickly, effectively communicate strategies and summarize key points & implications.
  • Ability to translate data into Executive Presentations in an accurate, clear and concise manner including graphical displays.
  • Knowledge of new technology and respective process changes to assist Executives with understanding the current capex/opex tied to future spend.
  • Knowledge with systems such as Peoplesoft, Clarity, Unefi, FUZE, Atoll, SiteTracker, NSAP, VSAP, CCP, vPlan, vBuild, FRR, PIMS, WFM, etc .
  • An open mind and always willing to embrace unchartered solutions, unafraid to challenge the status-quo
  • High level of curiosity and investigative mind-set with an attention to detail
  • Willingness to travel
