  • Represent Verizon Connect in a professional manner as a key technical interface to the customer for device support both on-site and in remote situations.
  • Research, develop, and test hardware solutions based on customer vehicles and requirements.
  • Execute field visits to install, troubleshoot and verify Telematics HW into all types of vehicles at customer sites.
  • Execute field visits to install, troubleshoot and verify GPS Fleet Tracking Equipment into all types of vehicles at customer sites.
  • Provide technical support to customers including independent verification, investigation, diagnosis and resolution or repair of customer reported issues, escalating when needed to the development team. Support activity made be remote or on-site when needed.
  • Update configurations on devices deployed to meet customer requirements, and apply Unit, Integration and Acceptance Tests using industry and Company frameworks to verify that updates are safe to deploy.
  • Apply Lean and Agile practices to day-to-day activities and participate in process improvement activities.
  • Knowledge of Company Production Infrastructure including Server, Database and Network.
  • Knowledge of Company Product Line, with deeper knowledge of components assigned to team.
  • Diagnose issues with Telematics products in the field or remotely, make decisions on corrective action, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Support the sales team with the execution of new orders and management of new and existing customers.
  • Attend all scheduled product education sessions to stay up to date on current products and services.
  • Outdoor work required regularly in all weather conditions.
  • Approximately 25 - 40% overnight and out-of-town travel required after completing training.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or four or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Three or more years of professional 12/24 VDC Electrical Automotive Experience.
  • Three or more years of 12V/24V installation experience.
  • Experience installing Telematics HW on Heavy duty and light duty vehicles.
  • Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of GPS Telematics HW.
  • Knowledge of vehicle networking for both Light duty and Heavy duty trucks.
  • Knowledge of OBD protocols.
  • Knowledge of J1708 and J1939 protocols.
  • Knowledge of Diesel engines fuel and electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of GAS engines fuel and electrical systems.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree in a technical field.
  • Four or more years of professional 12/24 VDC Electrical Automotive Experience.
  • Four or more years of 12V/24V installation experience.
  • Ability to understand and apply principles, methods, technologies and practices in Hardware Engineering.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office suite - including advanced excel knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Cellular networks infrastructure include LTE ,HSPA , APN setup, sims activation.
  • Knowledge of electronics.
  • Knowledge of asset battery GPS HW.
