What you’ll be doing...

You will provide strong leadership to drive business initiatives as Verizon continues to invest in the network to improve the way we live, work and communicate. Our network transformation will be critical for our current and future products such as IoT, 5G, and future smart cities. You will manage a team of field technicians who are responsible for installation and maintenance of our network in a 7x24 environment. You will manage safety and training compliance, fleet, work schedules, absence and timesheet approvals.

You will perform productivity assessments, and proactively evaluate, analyze, and recommend solutions to provide a differentiated service experience to our customers and drive performance improvements. You will also provide transformation leadership in support of organizational strategies and good practices to create efficiencies within the business that scale to support growth. Utilizing your strong leadership skills, you will guide and motivate a team toward a common goal. You will translate business metrics into practical applications that achieve organizational goals in the areas of: cost reduction, driving revenue, workforce management effectiveness, and execution on customer commitments.

  • Leading, coaching and providing direction to subordinates in support of all work functions.
  • Training and developing technicians.
  • Providing clarification or explanation of changes, goals and other duties.
  • Building strong relationships with internal and external partners to ensure organizational objectives are met.
  • Handling daily governance of KPI’s utilizing various reports, GPS data and observations.
  • Performing a variety of administrative tasks including scheduling, reporting and project tracking.
  • Managing performance including: safety, training, quality, productivity and feedback.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Willingness to work extra hours when necessary, including weekends, after hours and on call as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Five or more years of supervisory experience in a network, field operations or related environment.
  • Five or more years of experience in administering processes and policies as they relate to: safety, attendance, performance work rules and code of conduct.
  • Five or more years of experience in the following: CO or Terminal transport systems, DS1 through OCN, DWDM, ULH, IEN, Fiber splicing, outside plant construction and CPE.
  • Knowledge of basic power, fiber optics installation, maintenance, voice and data services.
  • Knowledge of basic employment/labor laws.
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies and Project Management processes.
  • DOT certification.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
