What you’ll be doing...

  • Leading and developing a team of interconnect engineers in support of achieving targets in the design, implementation, and commissioning of CRAN and other transport architectures.
  • Coordinating with RF and Transport Planning teams to select, secure, engineer, and prepare CRAN Hub locations.
  • Working with OEM Vendors and 3rd party DF/Lit providers to identify the best value in terms of quality, time, and cost.
  • Developing new technology transport design and equipment standards for deployment.
  • Providing a roadmap and guidelines for products, features, and hardware configurations to ensure technologically superior, operationally efficient and cost-effective growth and new deployment of systems.
  • Leading, developing and managing regional-level capital and expense budgets relating to interconnect, backhaul, technology evolution and related projects in conjunction with engineering and other lines of business.
  • Managing the progress of regional expense reduction initiatives, including verification via invoice reporting.
  • Developing policies and procedures for engineering, system performance, and operations.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in telecommunications transport engineering.
  • Willingness to travel

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Switch Engineering experience.
  • Experience in OSP planning and design
  • Knowledge in the following platforms and/or technologies: Telecom experience including: CRAN, Optical Networks, DWDM/CWDM, Cell site routers, and 5G.
  • Knowledge of data communications including data network design, routers, switches, hubs, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and MPLS.
  • CCNA certification.
  • Experience with the Telcordia Granite Inventory (formerly Xpercom/Xng) circuit inventory system.
  • Experience engineering and implementing multiple node optical networks including one or more of the following optical equipment vendors: Alcatel-Lucent, Nortel, Cisco, Fujitsu, and Tellabs.
  • Experience with SevOne traffic data collection system or another traffic statistics reporting package.
  • Experience with SAM network management systems.
  • Experience in contract negotiations.
  • Experience with cost analysis including NPV and development of business cases for fixed network systems.
