We have an immediate need for a Storage and Compute Engineer to facilitate the delivery of our award-winning Consumer and Commercial products. You will be responsible for designing, managing, upgrading, and monitoring a large-scale compute and storage infrastructure using Dell/EMC, Cisco UCS, Dell servers and blades, and Cisco networking.   • Collaborate with the Capacity Manager, Infrastructure Manager to design Best in Class solutions for growing our Compute and Storage Infrastructure to accommodate our yearly anticipated growth
  • Upgrade the existing storage and compute infrastructure from our current running version, and keep the installations upgraded going forward.
  • Manage the Virtual Compute and Storage Infrastructure to achieve 99.99% availability.
  • Build or implement tools and frameworks in support of the above responsibilities.
  • Continuous learning and innovation in support of the above responsibilities.
  • Design, build, and test on a regular basis disaster recovery plans for maintaining availability of the Virtual Compute and Storage Infrastructure.
  • Ensure that storage solution designs are implemented as required. Implement storage technology and capabilities using the appropriate methodologies that are consistent with organization-level storage architecture.
  • Provide subject matter expertise across single storage technologies. Assists with project implementation to ensure successful solution delivery.
  • Work with networking teams to make storage and networks work together to facilitate a diverse deployment of services.
  • Assist with integration of new storage solutions. Apply service-oriented storage architecture principles to meet the organization's security, risk, and availability requirements. Make recommendations that enable expeditious remediation to escalated incidents.
  • Review and follow storage technology roadmaps as published by vendor and merge with organizations IT roadmaps. Implement storage solutions following designs for compliance to audit, regulatory, and legal requirements.
  • Build and maintain an effective relationship with peers, internal business partners, and external vendors. Follow the storage integration methodologies to be in compliance with controls and standards.
  • Review and report storage system metrics to ensure capacity and availability. Document and maintain current environment and updates to be in compliance with code level requirements.
  • Ensure all storage and compute is monitored, configure proper alerting and thresholds, for performance, hardware and system availability.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of experience.
  • Six or more years of experience as a storage administrator.
  • Six or more years of experience with Block/SAN storage technologies.
  • Six or more years of experience with SAN Fabric Management.
  • Experience with EMC storage technology and CISCO UCS.

Even better if you have:

  • Ten or more years of experience as a storage administrator.
  • Ten or more years of experience with Block/SAN storage technologies and with SAN Fabric Management.
  • Experience with storage replication, virtualization technology, NFS Storage, provisioning block, Dell/EMC technologies, VMware/vCenter, performing storage migrations, and CISCO MDS Switches, and production support/maintenance.
  • Experience with DevOps automation toolsets and their usage (e.g. Ansible, Docker Compose, Chef, Puppet.)
  • Experience with Linux, Windows and ESX Operating Environment.
  • Complete understanding of thin and thick provisioning both on VMware and Storage Arrays.
  • Strong experience in managing large multi-site Production SAN and NAS storage environments.
  • Strong experience in troubleshooting performance issues with storage arrays and applications.
  • Knowledge of monitoring platforms and applications.
  • Knowledge of systems development methodologies, practices, and tools.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Familiarity with NAS & CIFS deployments.
  • Working knowledge with VMware.
  • Strong scripting skills
  • Familiar with Fibre Channel SAN concepts and practices.
  • Natural motivation to complete tasks and projects on time and in a punctual manner.
  • Problem solving skills with the ability to follow through to issue resolution.
