What you’ll be doing...

Infrastructure Engineers are responsible for the design, implementation and operation of mission critical systems that ensure the performance and availability of the Protect Wise platform. Responsibility includes the management of development and production environments and will contribute to productizing new software by developing installation, deployment and management scripts.

  • Working on a multi‑disciplinary software delivery team to deliver new services, enhancements and other technical improvements in an Agile setting.
  • Improving the reliability, scalability and operability of our ecosystem of services
  • Designing, developing and supporting infrastructure systems with a level of excellence that enables the Protect Wise Grid.
  • Participate in the on‑call rotation to triage production‑impacting events and see to their resolution.
  • Solving problems and looking for ways to improve all areas of Protect Wise engineering while also balancing the challenges of operating a growing business at scale.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • One or more years of development/coding experience.
  • One or more years of Linux system administration experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Knowledge of software engineering and architecture.
  • Coding skills, Ruby, Go, Python. We use NodeJS, Scala and Rust.
  • Knowledge with any of our existing languages.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code concepts, as well as tooling such as Terraform, Cloud Formation or Helm.
  • Knowledge of a configuration management tool such as Chef, Ansible, etc.
  • Experience with the Linux operating system.
  • Knowledge with any of the following would be a strong plus: Cassandra, Solr, Kafka, JVM.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, particularly around immutable infrastructure.
  • Experience with highly available systems at scale.
  • Incident response and/or incident management experience.
  • Experience building infrastructure and automation.
  • Problem solving and flexible mindset.
  • Communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Willingness to travel.
