What you’ll be doing...

The Field Loss Prevention Manager (FLPM) is responsible for protecting the employees, customers, assets and Verizon brand within the retail environment. This is done by managing, promoting, and directing all Loss Prevention initiatives in an assigned Retail Area. Through effective Operations and HR partnerships, the Field Loss Prevention Manager implements company-driven shrink solutions while providing regular direction and leadership to minimize shrink, mitigate theft and fraud, and maintain a safe and secure environment for Verizon employees and customers.

  • Responsible for managing and developing Area Loss Prevention Sr. Investigators and Sr. Analyst.
  • Ensure that Loss Prevention activities are executed consistently throughout the assigned Area.
  • Responsible for the execution of a comprehensive shrink management program designed to improve profitability of the Retail stores within the assigned Area. This is accomplished through proactive shrink management, improvement of operational controls, training, and effective interaction with Retail leadership through employee engagement initiatives.
  • Through collaboration with the Verizon Data Analytics team, manage and identify proactive retail investigations of organized retail crime, retail theft, including inventory thefts, bogus refunds, and bogus credit card transactions throughout assigned Area. Prepare detailed findings for Verizon Human Resources, Retail Leadership, and law enforcement that may be used for employee corrective action as well as criminal prosecution.
  • Lead interactive in-store consultative sessions with Retail leadership to ensure that all aspects of retail security/loss prevention are functioning as intended. Provide guidance to Verizon retail front-line employees, Managers, District Managers, Directors and business leaders on proper internal controls in order to safeguard company assets
  • Evaluate operational controls through the use of the Loss Prevention Assessment process. Collaborate with Retail Operations leadership to resolve operational deficiencies such as improper cash handling, deposit preparation, opening & closing procedures, and theft prevention.
  • Develop and provide client focused retail security/loss prevention training for retail store employees. Topics include Loss Prevention practices, shrink management, theft prevention, recognizing and diffusing hostile customers, physical security and data integrity.
  • Develop professional relationships with local, state, and federal law enforcement and retail associations to assist with mitigating retail crime trends and organized retail crime prevention for assigned retail locations. Interface with the National Retail Federation and other relevant organizations to ensure Verizon is adequately addressing evolving issues in its retail environment. Develop focused crime prevention solutions and responses for Verizon retail locations.
  • Respond to emergency and loss prevention-related situations when needed (24 x 7).

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Five or more years of loss prevention and/or retail operations experience with regional responsibilities for multiple stores.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Experience in leading, managing and motivating a team.
  • CFI, CFE, CPP, LPQ, or LPC qualification.
  • Thorough knowledge of retail operations, inventory control reconciliation, current LP technological applications.
  • Ability to execute strategic plans, practices and procedures to reduce and control store financial losses with a clear direction that can set and meet goals to maximize team performance.
  • Experienced in partnering with store, district, and executive management to achieve identified goals and maintain strong partnerships with all teams.
  • Strong investigative/interviewing skills. Wicklander/Zulawski interview training.
  • Strong organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and produce effective results in a fast paced and ever changing environment.
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple projects and meet agreed upon deadlines.
  • Strong time management and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent oral and written skills including detailed investigative report writing and a demonstrated ability to speak in front of large groups.
  • Ability to support and demonstrate VZ values and culture.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office suite - especially Word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint.
