What you’ll be doing...

For the Business Development and Strategy Planning manager role, we are looking for a knowledgeable and experienced individual to join our team and establish our startup pipeline. Help our team focus on the Customer Experience by bringing in the best the startup community has to offer to augment and enhance our capabilities. As a member of the innovation team you will actively source new technology partners and assess their capabilities, synthesize learnings and help report out to the broader teams, conduct due diligence analysis for key partnerships, and manage relationships with our scouting partners and startups.

Scouting

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop a Start-up scouting program that brings solutions to our customer and business needs.
  • Actively source new technology partners.
  • Attend industry events (meetups, partner events, conferences, etc).
  • Reach out and meet with potential partners (startups, companies, etc.).
  • Identify potential partners and evaluate their readiness.
  • Connect with internal teams to identify priority Customer and business needs.

Assess Technology Partners

  • Assess and verify our partners' claims and key capabilities.
  • Coordinate with internal technology group to perform claims tests with our partners.
  • Ensure test results are documented using standardized tools and artifacts.
  • Communicate clearly with startups, companies, universities, or research centers about expectations, goals, and status of different projects.

Scouting Knowledge Management

  • Continually update internal documentation to reflect latest state of affairs and knowledge.
  • Keep up to date on venture industry trends. Present analysis in a clear and thorough manner.

Intelligence Reporting

  • Research and prepare reports to share results of tests and/or technology areas.
  • Analyze market landscape and relative position of partners vs competition.
  • Actively share scouting knowledge across internal teams.

You are a team player, with excellent communication skills and the ability to work across multiple stakeholder groups in a highly matrixed organization.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four of more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s degree.
  • Relationship building, collaboration, self-starter, accountable and curious.
  • Coordinate projects with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge and curiosity of the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
  • Excellent organization skills, ability to manage many processes and relationships at the same time.
  • Ability to identify and articulate useful problem statements, user needs, use cases.
