What you’ll be doing...

Verizon Business Group (VBG) Customer Operations is working on a portfolio of innovative projects to enable digital operational excellence. The program direction includes artificial intelligence, operations automation, and industry leading omni channel technology to improve the efficiency and client experience of our services. We are seeking a Digital Operations Transformation Director to act as a strategic program lead to ensure that the program meets required deliverables. You have the ability to define a vision, you generate highly innovative ideas and take calculated risks. You develop strong relationships and win-win solutions. Responsibilities:

  • Lead matrixed teams of Business Owners, Data Scientists, Analysts, and IT Developers to develop and deploy automation to increase efficiency.
  • Continually assess business needs and requirements against assigned program initiatives to ensure continuity.
  • Define and enforce quality standards and ensure consistency in implementation across VBG.
  • Validate implementation of solutions across program initiatives and organizations.
  • Design and maintain the use case backlog and roadmap on an ongoing basis.
  • Conduct regular reviews of program initiatives with the Director of Digital Operations.
  • Conduct weekly reviews of program initiatives with Executive Leadership.
  • Conduct regular reviews with Program Office to ensure adherence to budgets and timelines.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Computer Science or Electronics) or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six years of experience in a telecommunications, managed services and networking.
  • Experience of working with large data sets, simulation, optimization and distributed computing tools (such as Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, Spark).
  • Experience working in role utlizing analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • MS in Computer Applications, Economics, Statistics or Mathematics or related technical discipline.
  • MBA.
  • Business awareness of uses for machine learning, statistics, optimization or related fields.
  • Experience with Omnichannel optimization and design (IVR, Chat, Chatbots, Portal, Apps).
  • Experience of working with large data sets, simulation, optimization and distributed computing tools (Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, etc.).
  • Six Sigma Certifications.
  • Strong technical leadership skills.
  • Experience in Multi-discipline knowledge of development, testing, infrastructure, operations, technical architecture, Application Operations, Production Operations, Data Base, and corporate functions (e.g. security compliance, etc.).
  • Understanding of and expertise with JIRA and Confluence.
  • Capability to effectively communicate through presentation, interpersonal, verbal and written skills.
  • Strong work ethic; ability to work at an abstract level and gain consensus.
