What you’ll be doing...

You will help drive operational excellence across our network organization by ensuring that the appropriate network parts are in the right place at the right time. You will manage the overall life cycle of network spares, establish and modify processes, and implement operating and governance frameworks to make our business better.

  • Provide Tier 2 operational support for the PIP, SES, CPA and former-XO networks.
  • Lead in adding redundancy, availability and support for the legacy networks (PIP, CPA, SES and former XO).
  • Work as on-call support as required as part of a rotation.
  • Work with Tier 1 Operations to advance their knowledge of the various networks, designs, troubleshooting, etc.
  • Engage in upgrades, patches and catastrophic outages, including as part of on-call duties.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with large scale IT systems.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain Management, Statistics, or Economics.
  • Cisco CCNP SP or equal certification.
  • Experience in working with Vendors and Tier 1 Operations.
  • Juniper JNCIS-SP, JNCIP-SP or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with technical writing and review of methods of procedures (MOPs).
  • Experience with executing and supervising network changes using MOPs.
  • Knowledge of IPv4, IPv6, QoS, Multicast, MPLS, IP Routing Protocols like ISIS, OSPF, BGP, L3VPN, L2VPN, Traffic Engineering using BGP and MPLS-TE.
  • Knowledge of modern router architecture including interworking of control plane and forwarding plane, switch fabric, egress queuing.
  • Ability to lead and drive projects to completion and handle multiple work assignments simultaneously.
  • Experience with Automation using configuration management tools like Puppet, Chef, Ansible or Salt.
  • Ability to develop programs using REST API to a controller northbound interface.
  • Experience with Splunk for Proactive monitoring and Analysis using Next Generation telemetry, logging, reporting, dash board development, and continuous delivery technologies.
  • Strong Scripting skills with Python, Perl and API experience.
  • Willingness to travel.
