Verizon’s network is the heart of our business; it is at the core of all of the solutions we provide.  As a Lead Consulting Engineer, you will take charge of network design and implementation, acting as a mentor to other team members in Hong Kong and across the globe.  With opportunities to expand knowledge in other technologies such as Security and Cloud, and many chances to take on additional responsibilities, this role has excellent career potential.

Responsibilities include:

  • Design and hands-on implementation of customer networks (WAN, LAN, Wireless Lan, Wan Optimization, data centre, IPT, UCAAS etc.)
  • Creating documentation for the implementation of the customer's network.
  • Support and coach other engineers in the team at a technical level to provide professional engineering support to enable Verizon’s organisation to provide high quality services/solutions to our customers.
  • Responsible for strategies for complex projects.
  • Manage the deliverables on complex customer design and implementation projects.
  • Pro-actively drive the development of the engineering role together with the other Design Engineers, Implementation Engineers.
  • Fourth-level support for Operations in the Incident and Problem Management process.

Qualifications

Must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Four or more years or related experience.
  • Experience in the design and implementation of large-scale customer networks. 

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Six or more years of experience in the design and implementation of large-scale customer networks.
  • CCIE/JNCIE (Juniper) certifications. Also CCNP is acceptable.
  • Basic knowledge of business processes (e.g. ITIL, Project Management) and the impact thereof on the technical environment.
  • Experienced in customer network architect/network design.
  • Professional level of personal and business communication at levels ranging from operational engineering to customer technical contacts.  
  • Fluent English and Cantonese or Mandarin.
