Verizon Global Technology Services team is driving a multi-year critical initiative to migrate application teams’ workloads to AWS cloud, as well as to transfer Verizon’s culture to a public cloud first, engineering-centric model. We are looking for energetic and motivated engineers to join our entrepreneurial team to help transform the enterprise.
To develop a set of pattern libraries that will be utilized by app teams to securely migrate, automate deployment/release of applications in the public cloud and that collectively will comprise the company cloud standard.
To provide technical direction to engineering teams and portfolios in public cloud migration. To understand their business and technical challenges, and to architect, get an agreement and develop the most optimal and reusable solutions.
Membership on the architectural team to build standards and solutions that ensure portfolio success when building new and migrating existing applications, software and services onto AWS Cloud.
Establish a reliable, accurate and continuous process that clearly measures the effectiveness and the level of usage of the established pattern libraries, and to be able to pivot based on the results.
Develop and maintain relationships with engineering and development teams.
Champion DevOps, crowd sourced, engineer-first public cloud culture. Promote knowledge and code sharing throughout the company.
Bachelor's degree or four or more years of relevant work experience
Experience with AWS Product and Services suite is highly desirable
Ideally, you'll also have:
Strong understanding of the entire AWS Product and Service suite (EC2, S3, VPC, CloudFormation, RDS, Lambda, Redshift, EMR, SQS, SNS etc.) of products and their applicable use cases, best practices and implementation, and support considerations.
Strong problem‐solving abilities coupled with a desire to take on a challenge
Proven ability to stay abreast and continually expand knowledge in the areas of new technological developments and trends
Good understanding of cloud architectures (PaaS) on AWS
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional Level, or AWS Certified Developer Associate is a plus
