The Global Supply Chain Systems team at Verizon is looking for a Senior Manager- Inventory Management for the Global Supply Chain organization. This position is responsible for creating and driving processes for identifying, valuating and prioritizing supply chain solution innovations and improvements, as well as ensuring their timely execution.
The successful candidate will oversee a team of SAP inventory management and materials management subject matter experts responsible for effectively linking supply chain business strategy to IT and provide technical and solution support to business stakeholders. The successful candidate’s team will also partner with supply chain managers and business analysts who provide business requirements and business intelligence for various supply chain initiatives. This person will also be responsible for the business and systems support for key supply chain systems, including the linkage between multiple ordering, inventory management and third party warehouse management systems.
This role will require extensive partnering with Supply Chain IT as well as a variety of stakeholder groups across VZ including Finance, Marketing, Engineering, Network Ops, Market Inventory and Retail Sales Operations organizations. The successful candidate will have extensive supply chain inventory and materials management knowledge and he/she will be the primary interface to IT, representing all supply chain inventory management functions. The Senior Manager – Inventory Management will lead supply chain-IT related projects involving cross functional teams at an aggressive pace on an enterprise-wide scale. He or she will also have significant leadership experience, demonstrated successes driving cross-functional process improvement, enabling tangible benefit to the business. This position is a strategic role and is the catalyst for driving continuous improvement while leading the business deployment of the supply chain enabling IT. Responsibilities include organizational leadership, project management, process subject matter expertise to implement solutions, data quality management, business acceptance testing, delivery of training programs, and communication of the improvement initiatives.
This is a high impact, highly visible, multi-business/multi-region position in the Global Supply Chain organization. Projects will include inventory optimization solutions implementation and adoption and linkages to supply chain strategies such as standardized S&OP solutions implementation and supply chain data standardization. The Senior Manager- Inventory Management will be part of a leading-edge team responsible for initiating and executing strategic efforts across Verizon’s Global Supply Chain organization.
Leadership and management experience of various supply chain teams, preferably in telecom, high tech, or other large scale manufacturing or service industries
8-10 years of industry experience with strong competency in supply chain management
Extensive experience creating and executing enterprise-wide processes and initiative
Ability to quantify results in a relevant way to the business
Supply Chain experience
Deep knowledge of Supply Chain IT systems - Primary SAP Inventory Management (SAP, Oracle, Logility, APO, JDA, etc.)
Proven Project Management and Process Development Expertise
Demonstrated cross functional experience in use of project development life cycles or other structured project management methodologies in customer facing situations
Ability to hold team members accountable, set clear performance standards, resolve performance issues, and keep project teams engaged and on task
Proven development and delivery of executive communication via Excel, Access and PowerPoint
Proven ability at engaging and influencing large teams and functional leaders
Ability to work independently, efficiently and effectively under extreme time constraints and deliver results by critical deadlines
Shows initiative, anticipates and prepares for upcoming situations, takes advantage of opportunities, acts quickly and decisively, addresses issues before they become problems
