Job Description:

A result oriented DevOps architect with nearly 4-10 years of experience responsible for proficient and proven in championing the tools which helps in continuous delivery, collaborate with Architects, developers and QA of a scalable multi-tenant application using a mix of leading, industry standard, and emerging technologies. The DevOps architect should evangelize cloud infrastructure and support best practices across the organization. As an Engineering platform service engineer in the DevOps world, he/she is responsible for defining, developing and maintaining the automation aspects of the build & release environment acting as a platform as service (PaaS) to customer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Experience in building high-performance infrastructures that are scalable and resilient
  • Strong delivery management skills in Application Development and should have the ability to work with teams across multiple horizontals
  • Manage outcomes for DevOps tooling, work closely with Vendor teams, internal infrastructure stakeholders and team of champions who would evaluate and champion integrated tool-chain
  • Constantly look out for inefficiencies and eliminate them, thereby improving the productivity. Especially, target the L1 activities and eliminate them by automation and should have strong testing skills.
  • Evaluate products, run PoCs, and pilots working; develop and recommend tools strategy and gain acceptance from senior stakeholders
  • Focuses externally to understand trends related to customers, competitor’s products and services, the market, and other groups
  • Expertise in migrating or managing environments in Cloud (ex AWS or Private cloud).

Skills:

  • 4+ years of experience as a Linux Systems Engineer is required.
  • Experience in Load Balancers: Nginx, HAProxy, F5
  • Experience maintaining automated build systems such as Jenkins, Rundeck.
  • Knowledge of Virtualization technologies like ESXi, VSphere, kvm, Docker
  • Experience with automation/configuration management using Chef, Ansible, Puppet or an equivalent
  • Intermediate to Expert level coding/scripting skills (Python/Perl and Shell Scripting)
  • Experience with Log Management tools like ELK, Graylog2, Fluentd,etc
  • Experience with monitoring systems such as Nagios, AppDynamics, Graphite.
  • Working experience on Application Servers like Jboss/WildFly/Weblogic.
  • Experience in agile development methodologies
  • Passionate about developing and knowledge of developer productivity tools
  • Expert knowledge and experience with Version Control systems: SVN, GIT,etc
  • Some familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Fisheye, Bamboo.), Maven, Artifactory, Git, Gitolite, OpenVPN, Chef, Ruby.
  • Experience working within the cloud (any cloud) but Amazon AWS cloud VPC setups, Amazon Web Services is where we're headed.
  • Application servers, servlet containers, and web servers (WebSphere, Tomcat, Jetty, Nginx)
  • Adequate knowledge of web related technologies (Web applications, Web Services, Service Oriented Architectures, Micro-services, Containerization of services) and of network/web related protocols.
  • Strong experience and knowledge of networking protocols – VLAN, IP Routing, TCP/IP and UDP

Working knowledge of technologies such as Vagrant, VMWare
