This position is responsible for the proper accounting and reporting for Subscriber Inventory and all related transactions. This position reports to the Manager of Inventory Accounting. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Overall responsibility for Subscriber Inventory, including closing journal entries, reconciliations, reporting schedules and transaction processing.
  • Provide reporting and quarterly analysis for key stakeholders including accounting department, finance, external reporting and external auditors.
  • Reviews and/or prepares transactions for entry, posts entries upon approval, collects and evaluates data, conducts analysis, and prepares reports.
  • Reviews and verifies the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records.
  • Maintain an effective control environment related to financial transactions.
  • Ensure that annual Sarbanes Oxley testing is performed according to Finance procedures.
  • Ensure that all account reconciliations associated with Inventory accounts are performed in accordance with CFO/Controller’s instructions.
  • Manage the Warehouse and Retail Store Inventory cycle count process to ensure the integrity of the balances reported in the Financial Statements.
  • Support internal and external audit teams to provide requested documentation related to inventory reporting and to ensure proper accounting principles are being followed.
  • Effectively discuss financial results and recommendations with leadership.
  • Contributes to the formulation of the overall strategy of the Accounting organization.
  • Prepares accounting related deliverables as an individual contributor, sometimes working in small teams.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate documentation related to Inventory Accounting processes and procedures.
  • Support cross functional projects that may impact Inventory transactions or reporting.
  • Identifies and supports improvement opportunities for Accounting and works closely with either internal teams or service providers (if any) to ensure improvement opportunities are implemented.
  • Supports manager decision making with accurate information as needed.
  • Handle high volume of Ad hoc requests from the various parties – Supply Chain, FP&A, Pricing, etc.

  • BA/BS in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Professional Certification (CPA) required.
  • 2+ years of directly related experience with a strong management background, including audit or financial reporting experience.
  • Knowledgeable of FASB requirements, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and accounting practices.
  • Experience in the implementation of accounting systems and applications.
  • Experience in report query and design.
  • Knowledgeable of accounting systems and applications including Peoplesoft, Essbase, and Blackline
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel and PowerPoint; strong written and oral communications skills. MS Access experience preferred.
  • Master's in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or equivalent preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of Database creation (MS Access or other).
  • Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis and project management.
