What you’ll be doing...

We’re investing in our network to improve the way we live, work, and communicate. Our network transformation will be critical for all our future connectivity businesses including new products such as IoT, 5G, and future smart cities. As part of this network transformation, you will help build one network engineered for growth for all lines of business.
You’ll be responsible for the installation, monitoring, testing and maintenance of telecommunications and associated electronic equipment and wiring per specifications and operational procedures, both in technical facilities as well as on customer property. Performs complex technical duties and escalate issues as needed. Follows standard procedures and guidelines. Uses individual expertise to solve difficult technical and system problems.

  • Testing and diagnostic procedures on equipment according to published equipment standards.
  • Fiber locates, monitoring of construction activity, fiber splicing and termination.
  • Assembly of, installs, and/or tests transmission equipment channel banks, channel service units (CSU), digital service units (DSU), modems, routers, etc.
  • Installation of routers, bridges, multiplexers, concentrators, etc.
  • Periodic maintenance on company transmissions support equipment.
  • Maintenance of new and existing circuits through troubleshooting and fault isolation techniques.
  • Utilize local and remote test systems to isolate and resolve customer circuit outages.
  • Coordinate testing and turn up of service with all involved providers until the customer’s service is up and working.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the job, with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Physical Requirements of the job may include, but are not limited to: climbing stairs and ladders, working from elevated areas, lifting and carrying objects weighing up to approximately 65 pounds, pushing, pulling, grasping, twisting/bending, and crawling, squatting, or kneeling in small spaces.

In this worksite-based role, you'll work onsite at a defined location(s).

You will provide cell site support across your assigned territory, which is Little Rock, AR, and the surrounding area.

What we’re looking for...

You’re tech-savvy and well-versed in all things telecommunications. Working independently suits you well. You’re also thorough, vigilant, and on top of the details - someone people count on to solve problems and to make sure they don’t happen in the first place.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or one or more years of work experience.
  • Willingness to work on-call, rotating schedule (shifts) including nights, weekends, and holidays based on the needs of the business.
  • Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time.
  • A Valid Driver’s License.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A Degree.
  • Two or more years of experience in telecom/wireless industry with recent technology knowledge and experience, working knowledge of electronics, electricity and transmission systems turn-up and test procedures.
  • Working knowledge of SONET ring, DWDM and WDM fiber systems. Advanced troubleshooting skills to support all transmission levels, DS1 – OC192 including Ethernet.
  • Working knowledge of Customer Premise Equipment installation and troubleshooting.
  • Fiber Splice and Cable Prep procedure experience both Single and Ribbon.
  • Fiber MPO/MTU installation and placement (Multi Point Optical Connector/Multi Terminal Unit) experience.
  • Experience with reading engineering drawings.
