What you’ll be doing...

  • Serving as an SME for all electrical equipment like UPS, DC and Generator and HVAC / CRAC Ventilation and Fire Detection Systems. Furthermore, an expert with Siemens BMS includes Desigo and MBS Gateway.
  • Supervision and handover of upcoming FE&C Projects (include BMS) especially areas Hilden / Dortmund and Hamburg. This will include the check of SOW (Statement of Work), RAMS (Risk Assessment Method Statement). This will also include possible business trips.
  • Coordinating yearly Preventative Maintenance in terms of Network Reliability (KPI) to the global standards set by Verizon like Monthly Generator Run, different intervals of Generator, DC, UPS, CRACs / Chillersand Fire detection systems, incl. Documentation, Dispatch completion and GREAT tool + create KIRKE-Requests.
  • Ensuring all maintenance activities are performed in accordance with approved Kirke Requests include MOPs/RAMS and the Verizon Critical Facility work rules.
  • Creating required MOPs/RAMs if this belongs to own work /Insourcing. Performing periodic technical and quality reviews of all MOPS/RAMs to ensure that the most “up-to-date” techniques and safety guidelines are utilized as well as compliant with regulations.
  • During staff shifts if required, scheduling, coordinating, and overseeing all maintenance vendors during maintenance and break/fix events to ensure personal safety, protect the facility’s critical equipment, and maintain power to the critical load. Same when doing monthly Generator tests / insourced if required, this will also include business trips.
  • Performing first-level assistance for the technical installation and third-party vendors. Assisting with issues (e.g., contacting colleagues in other departments, third-party departments, technical questions).
  • Taking part in change activities, based on risk, impact, and customer demand might be scheduled during out of office hours (e.g., maintenance windows).
  • Validating the completed work from third-party contractors on completion, accuracy, and correctness.
  • Providing onsite technical support in Verizon sites and /or Vendors where applicable Preparing and presenting estimates of cost of parts, equipment, and supplies of proposed installation or repairs and to drive a business case if required.
  • Optimizing costs, providing costs saving solutions, reviewing related vendor negotiations and completing monthly review of financials.
  • Performing repair activities based on assigned repair tickets for the locations. If required this needs to be documented/tracked as well - Site Issue List.
  • Participating in a 24/7 on-call rotation with the TFO-Team.
  • Performing visual checks of HVAC systems, AC/DC plants, Diesel Generators and general housekeeping routines.
  • Developing reliability reports to assist in identifying areas of concern that could develop into future problems or occur during daily business – Site Issue List.
  • EH&S activities including Trainings, Safety-Meetings, general cleaning, regular compliance inspections and follow up’s from site inspections/audits.
  • Deputy and right hand forSupervisor for all technical requirements but also in relation to EH&S.

What we’re looking for...

You are a Technical Facilities Engineer who knows what best in class service looks like and is capable of making that a reality. You know the importance of getting it right the first time and not disrupting mission critical data centers. You are someone who enjoys delighting customers with superior service and you have the desire and ability to do so.

You’ll need to have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience.
  • Experience with environmental control equipment (HVAC and air conditioning), electronic controls, and power distribution.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Fluency in German and English (written and verbal).

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A degree.
  • Experience working on critical Data Center systems (UPS,DC, Fire Detection, PDU, Diesel Generators, ATS equipment and Building Controls), as well as industrial electrical equipment and systems that include power distribution components/wiring, electronic components and lighting systems.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in working within stressful situations.
