Verizon Business Group supports enterprise and government customers globally. In Australia, Verizon is independently recognized as a leading provider of managed security services which complements our strengths in managed networks and private 5G. Global leadership. Local expertise.

We are currently hiring for an experienced Government Client Partner as a result of a recent employee promotion and development, to join our Defence Sales Team. This team is all about retaining and growing business in a key strategic account to support Verizon’s sustained and profitable growth in ANZ. The position reports to the Managing Partner - Defence.

You will be responsible for the following:

  • Development and implementation of a sales plan to win, grow and retain business.
  • Taking responsibility for positioning Verizon as a strategic service provider, whilst ensuring that targets are achieved or exceeded.
  • As a trusted adviser, you will add value by listening and solving Defence’s business challenges.
  • Cultivating and managing trusted advisor relationships with senior / executive level clients.
  • Working collaboratively and are not afraid of taking charge to ensure the right outcome for the customer is achieved.
  • Bringing your focus, energy, enthusiasm, resilience and belief in the ability of you and your pre-sales support to succeed by being the best, excellence in customer service.

Where you'll be working:

This hybrid role based in Canberra and will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Six or more years of experience delivering complex technology solutions in a Managed Network / Security services environment.
  • Strong connections with Defence industry and the national security agencies - especially in CIOG (Chief Information Officer Group).
  • Australian Government Security Clearance (NV-1 or higher).
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A degree.
  • Significant solution sales experience and demonstrated ability to deliver business growth in a sustainable and profitable way.
  • A history of success in the Defence and national security portfolio retaining customers and winning new business and exceeding targets.
  • Demonstrated experience of being effective in a global business with a highly-matrixed environment.
  • Good judgement on when to invest in an opportunity and when to walk away.
  • Experience of driving change by working with stakeholders across the business.
  • Experience consulting with CXO-level and uniform executives within the customer base.
