Fueled by the Verizon 5G future, the New Business Incubation team is anchored in Verizon’s Corporate Strategy organization with a mission to: Scale new software automation businesses fueled by the power of the 5G future. This unique charter, paired with the strength of Verizon’s best-in-class network, broad customer base and massive technological capabilities, puts the New Business Incubation team at the forefront of innovation as we embark on the 5G future.

Comprised of passionate and forward-thinking leaders, the New Business Incubation team includes ecosystem builders and industry experts in location technology, robotics, digital twins, fleet management, energy transformation, industrial IoT and other emergent technologies. With a belief that the autonomous future sits at the intersection of intelligent networking, devices and software, the team is working to shepherd customers through their digitization journeys to enable the connection, management and operation of physical and digital elements needed for the Industry 4.0 future. The combination of these technologies will transform Industry to deliver new levels of efficiency, intelligence and business outcomes in productivity, experiences and safety.

As the Manager, Energy Ecosystem Partnerships, you will be responsible for developing and executing a strategy to accelerate and catalyze the Energy Ecosystem delivering value to our partners, customers, and Verizon. You and your team will take the long-term view to identify where Verizon can be constructively disruptive through strategic partnerships and investment in high growth companies that share our values.

You will be working across various teams within NBI and broader Verizon to ensure our partner strategy is well understood and aligned with Verizon’s growth initiatives. You will collaborate with other strategists, researchers, product managers, engineers, and our Verizon Ventures team to help manage end-to-end investments and strategic partners to capitalize on the Energy Ecosystem that will be enabled by 5G.

Your ability to successfully execute will:

  • Grow, and proactively manage relationships with key strategic partners and inspire and influence them to work with Verizon and our partners.
  • Develop and execute strategies to maximize value for Verizon, our partners, and our customers.
  • Be a subject matter expert and champion for our Energy partners, educating them on our solutions, partner programs and how it fits with their organization.
  • Provide transparency, visibility and traction within all levels of the NBI organization to help inform future investment and partnership decisions.

Where you’ll be working:

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Six or more years of experience managing relationships with high-value accounts.
  • Proven track record of building partner programs to support rapid and high value business growth opportunities.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • MBA.
  • Proven track record in partner development and business development.
  • Experience in the Energy space.
  • Experience owning client relationships end-to-end.
  • Experience executing on business strategies in an individual contributor role.
  • Have outstanding financial, analytical, negotiating and creative problem-solving skills that result in successful partnerships across key KPIs.
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to think and communicate creatively, thoughtfully, and on your feet to diverse technical and non-technical groups, spanning all organizational levels.
  • Analytical, planning and organizational ability.
