What you’ll be doing...

The Strategy Analysis & Execution team within Verizon’s Corporate Strategy organization plays a key role in facilitating strategy development across Verizon and ensuring that the company’s vision is executed to capture growth opportunities and drive results.

This role:

  • Being a catalyst to driving the strategy execution process and delivering senior leadership the information they need to make some of the company’s most pressing decisions.
  • Shape the future direction of Verizon through development and analysis on areas of strategic interest, focusing on long-term growth and key market uncertainties while leveraging structured analytical techniques.
  • Supports cross-company initiatives to drive alignment and consensus across business units.
  • Spearhead continued development of the larger Verizon strategy community, including planning and running roundtable discussions and quarterly events.
  • Requires supreme abilities to work within the social system, influence at all levels, the willingness to be humble, and ensure others shine with your supporting role in driving the business units toward success.

What you’ll be doing…

  • Drive Strategy Execution Review/Strategy Leadership Council by delivering internal alignment across multiple levels of executives, including the VLC.
  • Conduct in-depth qualitative and quantitative analyses on emerging trends and upcoming potential disruptions across the markets we play in, including making recommendations in uncertain and ambiguous situations.
  • Serve as a cross-company nucleus, facilitating discussions, reaching consensus, and driving results in cross-company groups made up of product teams, new business development and engineering teams, and other parts of Verizon.
  • Expand strategic analysis and planning practice at Verizon, driving scenario planning, war gaming, and red teaming exercises across the company and within Corporate Strategy.
  • Assist in the preparation of materials for senior management and Board presentations.
  • Organize and deliver Strategy Community events.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • MBA or advanced degree in a quantitative field
  • Management consulting, investment banking, internal strategy, or product management experience
  • Understanding of the telecom and technology landscape, the key players, and trends
  • Extreme organization skills and exceptional project management skills
  • Excellent research and quantitative analysis skills, including solving complex, ambiguous, and analytically challenging problems
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to synthesize information, frame issues strategically, and target the message based on the audience
  • Comfort with governance, oftentimes without ownership, leading across multiple teams, working through others and at all levels of the organization
  • Intellectual curiosity, excitement about the future of telecom and tech, self-starter, creative and innovative thinker, open-minded and never satisfied with the status quo, and a passion for excellence with attention to detail
  • Critical thinking skills with the ability to execute on details
