Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and installing mechanical and electrical systems including building control systems, heating and air conditioning systems, fire detection systems, security systems, energy management systems, restaurant equipment, emergency generators, UPS and PDU systems. General maintenance such as painting, installing signage, drywall, tile, etc.
  • Maintaining any other systems that may be installed in our buildings to maintain environments, safety, and security.
  • Using general and specialized tools, test meters, and gauges commonly used in connection with air conditioning, air handling and power plant maintenance and other building equipment.
  • Interacting with other departments, customers and vendors.
  • Climbing ladders, working aloft, lifting up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 150 pounds occasionally; pushing, pulling, reaching, stooping, and crawling; and manual dexterity.
  • Occasional use of a company vehicle.
  • Working evenings, weekends, holidays and unscheduled shifts as determined by the needs of the business, including rotating on-call responsibility.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for…

You know HVAC and/or other building systems like the back of your hand, and are anxious to put your knowledge and skills to work for the Verizon Team.  You like to be busy and well-organized to stay on top of things.  You take pride in a job well done because you know better matters!

 

You’ll need to have:

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in air conditioning, plumbing, electrical work and/or power plant operations and maintenance.
  • Valid state driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.

 

Even better if you have:

 

  • A Universal Technician Certification as designated by EPA regulations-40 CFR Part 82 Subpart H.
  • In accordance with local laws and ordinances, a valid refrigeration license and the ability to pass, obtain and keep current a certificate of fitness for one or all of the following:  Chillers, cooling towers, fire standpipe, sprinkler, and air compressor operations.
