What you’ll be doing...

The VoIP Applications Technical Support Senior Engineer is responsible for on-boarding and operational support for the Global Ribbon platforms to include legacy Genband and Sonus products. Responsible for purpose-based application hardware/software and applications within the VCP (Verizon Cloud Platform).

  • Identifying deficiencies and quickly providing solutions in a manner to help improve the reliability and add operation efficiencies in the VoIP network.
  • Directing support of Network Management Centers to address and mitigate high-level anomalies encountered throughout the Global Ribbon networks and supported devices.
  • Embracing agile methodologies and showing an aptitude for being able to adapt and forward thinking.
  • Transforming the way we do operations by promoting DevOps mindset.
  • Reviewing alarming and network specific logs to proactively identify areas of concern that could potentially impact VoIP traffic.
  • Performing hardware/software upgrades on purpose based and virtual based Ribbon applications.
  • Being directly responsible for the overall maintenance and upkeep on the DSCIP/ISCIP/fGNI/fXO Ribbon networks, including the DSI/EMS/PSX/SGX/SBC7k/SBC9K/GSX9K.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A degree.
  • Experience in Sonus hardware and software.
  • Experience with virtual environment networks, including VCP.
  • Knowledge of internal Verizon maintenance processes.
  • Knowledge of work VoIP devices.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to quickly analyze situations, identify problems, and provide solutions.
  • Ability to drive projects to completion.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
