At Verizon, Finance is leading the formation of an advanced analytics arm that delivers world-class insights in driving business impacts through a data driven approach. In this role, you will have the opportunity to be part of a world-class Financial Data, Analytics and Insights team to engineer solutions and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) applications for complex business problems. Your work way include:

  • Curating data products to accelerate value and speed to decision
  • Conducting automated post-mortems and provide diagnostic/descriptive analytics to explain trends and patterns
  • Delivering AI based self-serve tools and platforms to democratize insights widely and rapidly
  • Building AI based Financial Analytics Platforms for KPI Forecasting: Demand, Churn, Cash Flow, Payments, Spend and other metrics
  • Identifying customer growth opportunities from new 5G revenue models and effective cross-selling to our customer base
  • Leveraging customer behavioral data science to optimize business strategies including promotions, credit, fraud and collections
  • Optimizing digital growth by balancing omni-channel experience and profitability
  • Participating in the design, implementation, and interpretation of experiments/trials for continuous refinement of on-going strategies
  • Developing and deploying both statistical and machine learning techniques and algorithms for business guidance

You must be currently enrolled in a degree program and be in good academic standing to be considered.

What we’re looking for...

You’re a motivated self-starter. Never satisfied with the status quo, you’re always trying to beat a personal best. You thrive in a fast-paced environment where new challenges come up every day. You are flexible, dependable and work well in varying environments.

You’ll need to have:

  • Current enrollment in an MBA, Masters, or Ph.D. degree program at North Carolina State University with a concentration in Economics/Econometrics Strategy, Data or Business Analytics, Business IT, Math, Statistics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology, Operations Research or related major with an expected completion date between December 2022 and June 2023
  • Experience in Corporate Strategy, Operations, Data Analytics, Management Consulting, Finance, Quantitative, Marketing, Business Modeling, or a related field
  • Hands-on experience using SQL and R/Python
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship

Even better if you have one or more of the following :

  • Experience developing and implementing advanced analytical solutions to complex business problems/opportunities
  • Experience in cloud technologies and Hadoop Clusters/Hive/Scala/Spark
  • Experience using data management, analysis, and visualization to realize absolute and incremental commercial gains
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, relationship management and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated strong analytical, communication, leadership and presentation skills
