Marketing Measurement & ROI

Role description

This role is a blend of marketing mix strategy, statistics, finance and analytical.  The Sr. Consultant Marketing Measurement and ROI is an integral part of the marketing effectiveness team who is responsible for creating business insights in order to optimize the total marketing budget. This role will work closely with the creative, media, segmentation, customer insights and customer experience teams to ensure marketing tactics are executed within a measurement framework for optimal ROI.  The candidate will play a critical role ensuring a test/learn approach is consistently executed across the marketing mix.  The candidate must be a true business partner to the organization, and possess the ability to develop marketing efforts and create insights into business actions.

Specifically, this role will:

  • Responsible in partnership with the Analytics and  Data Infrastructure leads for developing the framework to measure end to end marketing tactics
  • Build Statistical Models - Estimate average ROI and historical contributions to business via marketing/promotion efforts, while balancing for competitive/external factors.
  • Bridge investment measurement framework with online attribution and mix modeling as well as other statistical techniques
  • Partner with finance to include ROI and Financial KPIs within the measurement framework
  • Lead strategic value-added analyses and A/B testing around marketing campaigns, media optimization, ad effectiveness and core business metrics
  • Deliver concise, compelling, data-& insight driven business recommendations to senior leaders on where and how modified business decisions could lead to improved business performance
  • Generate insight analytics to optimize marketing spend allocation across BU’s, traditional vs. digital, spend by channel , mix of product/promotional spend
  • Act as a trusted advisor to multiple business partners within the Verizon Marketing Organization on a wide range of analytics projects from reporting and ad-hoc requests to large-scale cross-functional engagements
  • Provide in-flight campaign recommendations to maximize effectiveness
  • Support the ongoing intelligence needs of the business by leading KPI reporting, structured and ad-hoc analysis, customer insights, etc.
  • Partner with technical and non-technical resources across the business to promote the efficient execution of projects
  • Innovate and evaluate new tools/platforms to optimize marketing spend (based on max Revenue / Profit)
  • Ensure programs are executed with data-driven philosophy and post execution measurements are in place
  • Support the Director on Senior Management engagement and critical business needs

 

Qualifications

**Technical/Functional Qualifications**

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or other related fields with emphasis in quantitative methods
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in analytics, measurements, business intelligence, or media research
  • Excellent general business/finance analytical skills able to quickly synthesize data at micro- and macro-level to produce concise interpretation
  • Experience with both structured and unstructured data and analytics.  Capable of reducing large multi-dimensional data sets into more manageable, insightful, and interpretable data
  • Knowledge of attribution, econometrics  and programmatic models techniques
  • Measurement analytics, quantitative business measures (LTV, NPV,ROI, Churn, etc.), statistics (correlations, sample sizing, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of SPSS, SAS, Excel, Tableau, SQL, Omniture
  • Experience on statistical techniques relevant to market research (e.g., sampling, clustering) highly desirable
  • Ability to straddle between strategy and execution as needed
  • Expert understanding of how to use marketing tactics to drive sales and loyalty
  • Successful experience working cross-functionally 
  • Proven success developing business, marketing planning/analysis, opportunity identification and optimizing marketing investment
