What you’ll be doing...
This role will be working in the Public Policy team at Verizon, working across EMEA and International.
Role and Responsibilities
Monitor EU legislation and regulatory matters affecting the company and advise and inform the company, including the business and PPLS leaders, on potential impacts, policy positioning and advocacy strategy.
Define and draft Verizon’s public policy positions on relevant EU legislation and policies that affect Verizon’s business both in the EU and in the US (“policy transfer risk”).
Work closely with Verizon’s EMEA Government and Regulatory Affairs colleagues as well as Legal and Business units to define Verizon’s positions on relevant policy and assess the impact of regulatory developments on Verizon’s services and operations to help guidance future compliance.
Engage and connect with EU policymakers and their staff on issues relevant to the company and provide them with thought leadership, suggestions for improvements to draft legislation, and examples of the impacts of legislation under consideration.
Engage in the work of trade associations (Amcham EU, EuroISPA, ETNO, GSMA), industry and civil society stakeholders.
Communicate the company’s positions both internally and externally.
Facilitate and support the policy engagements of senior executives and the Government and Regulatory Affairs leadership.
