What you’ll be doing...

We don’t wait for the future. We build it. In this role, you will be part of Verizon’s (Michigan/Indiana/Kentucky) MIK Network Performance team and will be expected to lead the work to achieve the team’s objectives - exceed the Radio Access Network (RAN) KPI targets, winning RootMetrics and other benchmarking metrics, and maintaining Verizon’s network superiority. You will take part in the implementation of new RAN features and trials, analyze pre/post KPI’s of the network through upgrades and network capacity adds. Perform end-to-end troubleshooting and KPI analysis.

  • Performing statistical data analytics and data science techniques to improve our network’s capacity, coverage and overall service.
  • Automating data collection, reports, visualization, system updates and improving automation mechanisms.
  • Creating dashboards and geolocating data to present information dynamically.
  • Analyzing internal and external benchmarking and third-party test results and implementing solutions to improve those results and meet KPI objectives.
  • Investigating and resolving customer complaints, communicating/interface with all levels of management.
  • Recommending and evaluating the impact of new cells.
  • Designing, launching and optimizing the next generation of wireless technologies.
  • Simplifying data for team members and management.
  • Interfacing with regional network teams, Centralized teams, HQ teams, and equipment vendors for the purpose of operations support and root cause analysis.
  • Monitoring and analyzing RAN KPIs to ensure service levels are met and maintained.
  • Collaborating with other network groups to determine best design and customer experience (e.g. Network Assurance, RF Design, construction, etc.)
  • Typically managing multiple projects at a time.
  • Quickly responding to critical system impacting issues and works with various teams to resolve them as soon as possible.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

We are calling for data driven candidates with strong data analytic and visualization backgrounds to join our Network Performance team.

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time.
  • Willingness to work rotating schedule (shifts) including nights based on the needs of the business.
  • A valid driver's license.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A degree in Electrical engineering.
  • Experience with one of the major RAN equipment vendors - Ericsson, Nokia, and Samsung.
  • RAN Optimization experience.
  • Knowledge of antenna characteristics, design, PIM, distortion, interference detection, and mitigation techniques.
  • Strong analytic, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of 4G and 5G technologies in RF Design and System Performance.
  • Knowledge of LTE, VoLTE and 5G Platforms.
  • Knowledge of Ericsson systems including ENM, ENM scripting, and 3GPP standards.
  • Python/R and SQL experience.
  • Business Intelligence knowledge.
  • Tableau expert level experience.
  • Experience with mapping data using Google Earth, Tableau.
  • Ability to investigate/differentiate and diagnose RAN, Transport and CORE related problems.
