What you’ll be doing...

The Treasury Manager, Captive Operations will report to a Senior Manager and will have overall responsibility for the accounting and financial management of four Captive insurance companies. The position will be responsible for the preparation of financial statements in conjunction with the captive management firm. This position requires excellent financial and interpersonal skills to address regulatory, tax and accounting issues and to achieve satisfactory resolution through the Verizon tax department, the captive managers and internal and external auditors. The incumbent will participate in and may lead ad hoc projects with significant financial impacts.

• Preparing monthly and annual audited financial statements.
• Managing internal and external auditors, captive managers, actuaries, commercial banking relationships and regulatory relationships.
• Serving as subject matter expert on insurance accounting, Sarbanes Oxley, and other emerging corporate governance issues as they relate to captives.
• Coordinating the captive’s participation in multiple affiliated insurance programs and third-party insurance programs.
• Tracking insurance program profitability, reviewing cessions and actuarial data.
• Maximizing loans and dividends to the parent company.
• Maintaining financial ratios to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal targets.
• Coordinating and perform claim audits.
• Monitoring internal controls and perform Sarbanes Oxley controls testing.
• Evaluating processes for efficiencies and use of digital finance tools.
• Coordinating all board meetings, all regulatory filings and regulatory audits.
• Providing support to or lead special projects.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or four or more years of work experience.
• Six or more years of relevant work experience in accounting / finance.
• Knowledge/CPA Certification.
• Experience in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
• Good presentation skills; comfortable with presenting to executives.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• A degree
• ARM and/or CPCU.
• Insurance industry experience.
• Prior knowledge working with captive insurance companies.
• Experience in implementing and using digital finance tools.
• Master's in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Verizon accounting policies and procedures.
• Strong written and oral communications skills.
• Strong social interaction skills.
