What you’ll be doing...

Are you ready for the challenge of driving transformation at the scale of a $130B+ Fortune 50 company through an industry leading technology stack? In this role, you will be responsible for Verizon’s corporate system’s analytical capabilities, focused on architecting and building robust data models that caters to human centered experience spanning across multiple data domains.

As a Data Modeller, you will primarily be the Subject Matter Expert of Accounts Receivable (AR) data domain to support key functions for Finance Closer business function wile working towards the Corporate Systems Group’s objective of enabling data engineering product hub.

The ideal candidate for this role will be equal parts business & technical leader to be successful, with the ability to identify opportunities to improve user experience by meeting the data demands in the areas of AR systems and oversee end-to-end solutioning of data engineering for the on-time delivery of all AR data requirements.

  • Demonstrating in-depth knowledge of AR domain in designing and building data engineering solutions to expedite speed to business value.
  • Providing visibility to AR domain data by profiling Data, enabling Data Quality dashboards with scorecard.
  • Building trusted data product for AR domain so data products can be reused and democratized to various business stakeholders and consuming applications.
  • Translating AR business requirements into technical requirements with domain expertise and facilitate the same to team and ensure that requirements are incorporated in an effective & efficient manner.
  • Evaluating AR activity, bad debt write-offs, post receivables transfers and reserves for bad debt transactions and integrate the data as per the business requirement.
  • Defining the customer master data reconciliation for AR transactions and keep accurate records and files Reconcile account and monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments and other irregularities.
  • Building data processes for AR transactions such as credit card payments, bank deposits and adjustments transactions after profiling and validating quality of the data by building automated process.
  • Researching and resolving payment discrepancies by generating age analysis Execute the tasks for AR audit and analyze inconsistencies and identify opportunities for improved financial performance.
  • Designing and Developing Conceptual/Logical/Physical data models and data flows.
  • Designing, building & operationalizing Data Ingestion and Transformation solutions by building configurable and scalable framework with technical expertise for unified data engineering platform.
  • Seeking and capitalizing upon opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
  • Establishing best practices for data modeling, coding to ensure optimal design and consistency within the system.
  • Handling the process management tools and ensure compliance to all software cycle guidelines.
  • Updating to leadership with development progress and establish and maintain cross-functional working relationships with other groups (including Production Support, Cloud Admin Team etc.) and key business stakeholders.
  • Owning agile delivery model, roadmap, backlog execution processes for delivering data models involving complex business rule transformation to meet financial/accounting targets.
  • Coordinating support for systems initiatives driven by other groups to drive AR domain’s data integration.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge in AR (Accounts Receivable) function, order-to-cash business process with understanding of relevant financial data flow.
  • Experience in providing solutions with Data Models and Data Warehousing experience.
  • Experience in development of complex conceptual and logical data models.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Knowledge of relational, dimensional, and/or analytic data modeling experience (using RDBMS, dimensional, NoSQL data platform technologies, and ETL and data ingestion protocols) including handling structured and semi-structured (JSON) datasets.
  • Experience in Data modeling as core concept and comprehensive knowledge of key metrics..
  • Knowledge of Big Data technologies, techniques, and trends.
  • Experience in SAP HANA, SQL to design end to end data solutions.
  • Experience in HANA objects such as Calculations Views, Stored Procedures, tables, to meet functional requirements.
  • Experience in data warehouse, data lake, and enterprise big data platforms like Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and data services like Google Big Query (BQ).
  • Knowledge of metadata management, data modeling, and related tools (Erwin or ER Studio or others).
  • Experience in team management, communication, and presentation.
  • Knowledge of Agile framework, Scrum methodologies and awareness of productivity tools used to support them.
  • Strong customer focus and ability to recognize impact of decisions on end users.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills and ability to interact with team members and external customers.
