What you’ll be doing...

The Network Security Identity & Access Management (IAM) team is seeking a Sr. Manager of User Experience. This role will be accountable for developing and executing IAM vision that drives strategy, automates processes, innovates with new ways of doing things, and develops tools for simplifying both the adoption of IAM services and user experiences. The scope of the role includes all of Verizon’s management networks and critical customer facing networks including the Intelligent Edge Network, 5G, multi-edge Compute, the Verizon Cloud Platform and other legacy networks and systems.


This individual will be responsible for leading a team of experienced security professionals in assessing, simplifying, conducting, and improving overall user experiences in all aspects of IAM services used. This position requires an experienced leader with strong skills in technology, development disciplines, people, and business management. This person must be a problem solver and able to work across organizational boundaries and build relationships. This person must possess a solid domain competency in the area of carrier class networking, in addition to Cyber Security. This individual must be able to thrive in a fast-paced working environment, while also being dedicated to achieving operational excellence within the team.

  • Acting as an advocate for great user experiences, create programs & partnerships that will foster continuous feedback with customers and deliver iterative improvements.
  • Assessing, simplifying, and modernizing existing access request and access review processes and systems.
  • Partnering with GN&T teams, Corporate Information Security, and Network Security IAM peers on new ways to improve end-to-end user experiences.
  • Performing road mapping work efforts that follow an interactive agile approach of progress.
  • Developing, measuring, and reporting key performance indicators for monthly leadership readout.
  • Embracing diverse perspectives and points of view, while also challenging historical decisions, as an accelerant for innovative ideas and improvements.
  • Embodying the core leadership principles daily: Business Leadership, People Leadership, and Self Leadership through the constant support and representation of customers, embracing and promoting change, and leading by example.

Where you'll be working...

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

This role is eligible to be considered for the Department of Defense SkillBridge Program.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in Access Request & Attestation software/systems.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Understanding of Sailpoint capabilities and operational management.
  • Knowledge of information security fundamentals, best practices, and industry standards with prior responsibilities of protecting information assets.
  • Knowledge of Identity & Access Management concepts, technology, and industry trends.
  • Ability to manage fast-paced teams to successfully deliver project deliverables on time while providing effective status communications and mitigation plans when deliverables are not met.
  • Experience in problem solving that involves working across cross-functional teams to drive solutions to final conclusion.
  • Good leadership and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across various technical and project management organizations.
