What you’ll be doing...
This opportunity is for Military personnel who are current participants of the Department of DefenseSkillBridgeProgram.
Transport service delivery and vendor management responsibility up to and including selection, order placement, service order/delivery.
Provide support and project management for the design, acquisition, and implementation for all equipment supporting Transport Network infrastructure projects including lit and dark fiber networks.
Analyze, report and correct physical, contract and project records in the engineering databases for documentation of all fiber assets and circuits and other required data fill to complete projects successfully.
Financial responsibility projects – follow established guidelines to bid and award service through close/completion of projects.
Create and manage bids and awards for new services from generation through receipt and closure per Verizon standards.
Regularly work with Implementation and other internal groups to fulfill the required orders to meet monthly and annual goals for project in-servicing.
Regularly work with other group’s forecasts to ensure projects meet expectant demands in support of the company’s objectives.
Vendor Management responsibility including engineering/design, managing budgets, procurement, and complete project management ensuring objectives are met in accordance with stated timelines.
What we’re looking for...
Bachelor’s degree or one or several years of relevant work experience
A valid driver’s license
Experience with production databases entering data and producing reports
Experience with MS Office and Google applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Google Sheets and Docs
Willingness to travel overnight from time to time (less than 1%/yr)
Organizational and planning skills
Are self-motivated, show initiative, and capability to work independently
Strong ability to learn new technology and processes quickly
Strong interpersonal and communications skills
Ability to develop and maintain productive working relationships with vendors, peers and other stakeholders
Troubleshooting, problem solving, project management, decision making skills
Capability to be highly productive in a dynamic environment and manage your workflow to keep multiple tasks and projects moving to completion
Even better if you have:
One or more years of experience in a Wireless or Technology related field
Experience in project management systems tracking
Working knowledge ordering lit ethernet backhaul, microwave, dark fiber or other transport services
Experience with basic wireless engineering and engineering economic principles
Knowledge and proficiency in one or more of the following platforms and/or technologies:
DWDM Optical Transport systems including: Ciena 6500
Cisco 1k, 920 & 903 routers, ALU/Nokia 7705 & 7750 routers
Digital Communications including: Fiber, Ethernet
Wireless voice and data service including: EVDO, LTE, 5G UWB and.or C Band
Troubleshooting, problem solving, project management, decision making skills
