What you’ll be doing...

This is a leadership role reporting to the VP of Cyber Defense with a focus on cyber defense services on a global level. This includes management of cyber defense service delivery, programs, projects and new or existing initiatives.

The Associate Director of Cyber Defense Service Management & Operations is responsible for managing multiple service managers who are involved in designing and driving large scale complex projects and programs to meet the needs of cyber defense internal clients (such as BISOs, Security Leads, and regulatory requirements) and will work closely with different teams to achieve targeted goals. This role also includes overseeing content development for monitoring and reporting that leverages cyber defense services or other security products, through the end-to-end content management lifecycle.

In addition, this role will also be responsible for supporting business operations for the Cyber Defense organization. Responsibilities associated with business operations include Strategic Planning, Budget Management, Vendor Management, Workforce Development and Staffing Support.

  • Acting as the central point of contact for Verizon businesses, network, engineering, and technology management to coordinate or support strategic planning, internal client interactions and escalations, technology implementations and migrations, issue resolutions, and incident/problem management representation.
  • Overseeing the end-to-end life cycle of technology implementation and client or product on-boarding into new and existing security monitoring solutions into Verizon Cyber Defense.
  • Creating processes and Business Requirement Documentations for security monitoring use cases; capture and present business area requirements for use of the SIEM system to the content creation team.
  • Providing coordination and organization on various business forums related to the restoration, resolution, and root cause analysis of incidents related to monitoring technologies.
  • Educating and advising business and technical leaders on the development, delivery and management of security monitoring solutions.
  • Oversighting of Cyber Defense service delivery, operational and business processes, while developing measurement and improvement processes to continuously drive service maturity.
  • Identifying and developing new and improved SLA / SLO and technical procedures and process control manuals.
  • Measuring and improving upon time to market of business requests and changes.
  • Creatingmanagement of MIS reporting and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) on operational performance, productivity and IS capabilities.

This role is eligible to be considered for the Department of Defense SkillBridge Program.

In this remote role, you'll work from home with occasional in-person trainings and meetings.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Six or more years of experience in project / program management and delivery in a fast-paced Cyber Security / Cyber Fraud / GRC environment.
  • Six or more years of experience in a process improvement type of role.
  • Four or more years of experience in Cyber Security or Information Security Service Management / Service Delivery.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Experience in Security Monitoring Use Case, Information System Data Analytics or Risk & Compliance development.
  • Knowledge of OSI Layers, Network, Firewall, IDS, IPS, SIEM, and Endpoint Protection.
  • Previous people leadership with experience with Security Operations, Cyber Defense or Cyber Fraud teams.
  • Experience in creating and managing forecasts and budgets for various projects preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills both technical and non-technical.
  • Strong peer leadership to organize and manage technical tasks across functional teams.
  • Good problem-solving mindset with intellectual curiosity, critical thinking and proactive solutions.
  • Ability to work in a diverse environment interacting with various teams and functions to support strategic goals.
  • Experience in Program management dealing with vendors and executive audiences.
