What you’ll be doing...

Provide critical support and direction for systems used in the Supply Chain Planning team for inventory planning and consumer fulfillment. System support requires an understanding of inventory management, forecasting, and planning processes within the Supply Chain, as well as an understanding of systems, databases, interfaces, and the SDLC. This role requires working with Business and IT partners on enhancements, changes, and fixes for existing Supply Chain Planning applications new system implementations, and providing day-to-day support for Verizon’s Planning Systems including Logility, Baxter, APO, JDA and SAP systems.

Process/Application Support:

Maintains on-going interaction with internal business partners and other functional areas relating to objectives, deliverables, and production support within Supply Chain systems and processes. Interacts with supply chain clients to anticipate systems needs and requirements. Requires deep understanding of supply chain business processes. Position will work closely with the internal client groups of Supply Chain to understand present and to-be business processes to facilitate compatible short- and long-term system solutions.

Manages implementation of new systems, upgrades, service packs, fixes, enhancements, and process changes by coordinating and conducting testing with IT and end users to ensure applications are functioning as designed. Ensure change controls are implemented in accordance with established Change Control Procedures set forth by Verizon IT.

Assists Supply Chain team and business partners in identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving problems related to systems processes, data reporting, software and/or hardware while maintaining documentation of the issue and resolution. This position investigates problems to determine root cause - change in business process/data input, interfacing system changes, recent bug/code fixes, etc, - of the issue at hand. This position then defines the fix/solution, works with the technical team on design, validates the design, and performs end to end testing of the solution. This requires a deep technical understanding of the applications and business processes supported.


Responsible for the management of specific planning projects that tie into Corporate and/or Foundational Strategic Wireless initiatives. Creates business practices that aid in the successful completion of projects within their functional planning system area. Manages and supports multiple, inter-related system interfaces and functions. This position coordinates efforts with Supply Chain Planning, VZW Device Marketing, Logistics Operations, external partner groups and others to identify, design, implement, and support enhancements and solutions. Provides resolutions to a diverse range of complex problems. This position is responsible for ensuring end to end system solutions meet the needs of the business, which requires a thorough understanding of multiple supply planning tools and inventory management processes. This position manages their day to day workload with minimal supervision. Develop concepts, policies and procedures to solve complex problems and make recommendations to assist in the completion of key initiatives within the planning functional area. Develops schedules by partnering with IT and the business to ensure timely completion of projects, and assist in identification of resource requirements where needed to bridge any gaps in project delays. Demonstrates good judgement in selecting methods & techniques for obtaining solutions.

Bridges communication among technical and non-technical project staff and clients. This position possesses a deep technical and functional expertise of the areas supported. When the business unit requests a new program, process, or enhancement, this position is required to gather and document business requirements, document process flows to support the business requirements, design innovative and user-friendly solutions, develop functional specifications, communicate the solution design/requirements to both on-shore and off-shore IT teams or 3rd Party Vendors, develop and execute test cases to be used for UAT utilizing JIRA, and facilitate UAT activities with end users/testers and coordinate the implementation of the solution with our impacted business partners.

Facilitate user acceptance testing with end users prior to deploying fixes and enhancements to production ensuring changes are working as expected, then obtain approval and business signoff requirements. This position may also be required to develop and deliver training on solution, depending on the scope of the solution.

As a Supply Chain subject matter expert (SME), work to develop complex solutions for complex business requirements. The majority of the SME’s day is spent on working through issues that business super users cannot resolve. Additionally, the SME knows the intricacies of the systems supported and aids in the development of functional specs for new project and solution launches

Requires a range of skills within the professional discipline including familiarity with concepts and technologies as well as applied knowledge of established procedures, policies and practices.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant supply chain or systems work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science/Information Systems/Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain Management.
  • Experience in Planning Systems applications (i.e. JDA, Logility, baxter, and/or SAP).
  • Three or more years of information systems experience; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills.
  • Desktop applications competency (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Mail, Google Sheets, Google Docs, Google Drives, Google Slides, PPT, Excel, etc.).
  • In-depth knowledge of information systems concepts.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable methodologies, tools, standards, and procedures.
  • Strong organizational and problem solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills.
